Neuqua Valley 12 Mundelein 1

In the final game of the tournament, Neuqua Valley's Chelsea Reczek scored 6 goals in the first quarter as the Wildcats cruised to a 12-1 victory over Mundelein. Goalie Kayley Provow allowed just one second half goal and helped Neuqua take second place in their bracket with a 3-1 tournament record. Reczek finished with 8 total goals to lead the Wildcats, Kristen Trucco scored twice, and Kathleen Patterson and Alyssa Portera each added one goal apiece in the win.

Loyola 11 Homewood-Flossmoor 10

Carly Levison scored the game-winner with 1:08 remaining as Loyola finished the tournament with a hard-fought 11-10 victory over Homewood-Flossmoor. With the score tied at 3-3 in the first half, the Ramblers went on a 4-0 run, as they got two goals apiece from Colleen Shaw and Liz Clarke. The Vikings responded quickly, as Julie Carlisle and Story Pumphrey each scored to narrow the gap to 7-5 before Levison scored her first goal of the game. Trailing by three, H-F's Kiley Maanum scored two straight goals and Pumphrey tied it at 8-8 in the second half, but Levison scored again to put the Ramblers on top 9-8 heading into the fourth quarter. Levison continued her hot streak with a goal at the 5:00 mark to put the Ramblers up by two, but Pumphrey scored on two straight possessions to tie the game at 10-10 with 3:13 left to play. Levison then scored with 1:08 to play and her fourth goal decided the game and gave the Ramblers the victory.

Stevenson 11 Sandburg 10

Megan Pagano and Amy Michelau both scored goals in the final two minutes of the game to break a 9-9 tie and help lift Stevenson to an 11-10 win over Sandburg.

Fenwick 10 Ignatius 7

Morgan Bonk had 6 goals and 2 assists and Alison Pavlik scored 3 goals and added 5 steals to propel Fenwick to a 10-7 win over St Ignatius on Saturday evening. Lisette  Calderon also added a goal in the Friars victory.

 

Game Recap: Pavlik started the scoring with an outside shot after an Ignatius ejection, and Bonk made the lead 2-0 halfway through the opening quarter. Kathleen Maloney cut the lead in half with a score to make the score 2-1 at the end of the first period. Fenwick scored two straight goals in the second quarter, as Bonk added her second and Calderon scored her only goal of the game to make it 4-1. With 2:30 remaining in the half, Nora Kennelly scored on a man-up situation to make the score 4-2, and Bonk and Kennelly traded goals before the end of the half to make the score 5-3 at the break. The Wolfpack got to within one goal early in the third period as Kennelly scored her third goal of the game, but Bonk put in a rebound off a penalty shot miss to make the score 6-4 with 4:57 left. Kate Brankin got Ignatius as close at they would get with her first goal, but Pavlik scored two straight goals before the quarter ended to put Fenwick in control with an 8-5 lead. Kennelly scored her fourth goal midway through the final quarter, but Bonk responded with two more goals and put Fenwick ahead 10-6 with less than two minutes to play. Maloney scored her second goal in the final minute, but Ignatius would not get another chance to score and fell 10-7.

McAuley 12 Neuqua 4

Mother McAuley emerged from their bracket with an undefeated record after knocking off Neuqua Valley 12-4 in their last game of the tournament.

Story Pumphrey (5 goals) and Andrea Peterson (2 goals) started the game with goals and the Vikings started out with a 4-0 lead en route to a 10-4 win over New Trier on Saturday afternoon. Julie Carlisle, Caitlin Dunn, and Caitlin Hamilton also scored goals for H-F, while Blake Bartter scored 2 goals in the loss for the Trevians.

Ignatius 16 Loyola 10

St Ignatius came from behind to beat Loyola 16-10 after falling behind 7-3 early in the game. Kathleen Maloney scored twice to get the Wolfpack within two goals of the Ramblers in the second quarter before Colleen Shaw scored to put Loyola ahead 8-5 with 4:10 remaining in the opening half. Ignatius then scored four straight goals to take a 9-8 lead at halftime, as Lydia Ridgeway scored twice and Nora Kennelly and Maisie O'Malley added goals before the break. Shaw tied the score on Loyola's first possession of the third quarter, but the Wolfpack took the lead for good as Maloney scored twice and Kennelly and Celeste Almarez added third quarter goals to make the score 13-9, and Ignatius' would never look back.

Maggie Wood led Mother McAuley to a 12-4 victory over Sandburg with 4 goals and Laura Perez, Ashley Bachler, and Lilly Gonzalez added 2 goals apiece in the win. The Macs jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the opening period and Yuriria Chavez and Lilly Cortes also tallied goals in the win for McAuley.

After trailing 1-0 early, Fenwick scored 5 straight goals and coasted to a 12-5 win over Homewood-Flossmoor to improve to 2-0 in the tournament late on Friday night. Mogan Bonk scored 4 goals, Erin Leary added 3 goals, and Lisette Calderon tallied 2 goals in the victory, while Alison Pavlik, Stephanie Ovalle, and Katie Tynan also got on the scoreboard with a goal apiece in the win. Andrea Peterson scored the first goal of the game and finished with 3 goals in the losing effort for the Vikings.

Kathleen Patterson, Chelsea Reczek, and Kristen Trucco all scored 2 goals and Neuqua Valley held a 5-0 lead at one point before defeating Stevenson 7-3 on Saturday. Nancy Leech also added a goal for the WIldcats in the win, while goalie Kayley Provow allowed only 3 goals in the net. Rachel Cliburn scored 2 goals for the Patriots and Elyse Sawka also added a goal in the loss for Stevenson.

Kathleen Maloney recorded 6 goals and Nora Kennelly added 5 scores to lead the Wolfpack to a 17-4 win over New Trier on Friday night. Lydia Ridgeway also scored twice for Ignatius and four other players scored in the win.

Maggie Wood and Yuriria Chavez both scored 3 goals to lead Mother McAuley to a 15-3 win over Mundelein in their first game of the Fenwick Tournament. McAuley led 4-0 after one period and 9-2 at halftime as they coasted to the victory. Lilly Gonzalez, Laura Perez, and Maggie McShane each scored 2 goals for the Mighty Macs, while Ashley Bachler, Lilly Cortes, and Meghan Nolan also scored once. Michelle Lau, Maura Coughlin, and Paige Neubel each tallied goals for the Mustangs.

Fenwick kicked off their tournament by jumping out to a 5-0 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 16-6 victory over conference rival Loyola on Friday afternoon. Morgan Bonk scored 5 goals, Stephanie Ovalle added 3 goals and Erin Leary scored 2 times in the win. Loyola's Carly Levison scored 3 goals in the loss.
