      Week 7 Girls
      Tournament Previews
By Aaron Brown

The Week 7 tournament schedule
features six Saturday-only events, mainly due to the Good Friday/Easter
weekend. Here is what to expect from the action, which includes 29 teams
and a grand total of 46 games:

      GBN Tournament
Glenbrook North's fourth annual tournament brings back #21 St Viator, #23
LWE, Libertyville, and Resurrection for a ten-game round-robin tournament
that kicks off on Saturday morning. The hosts will look to defend their
title after winning the event last year, while the Griffins will be
looking to reclaim a title they won in 2008 and 2009. St Viator is the
highest ranked team of the group and is coming off a third-place finish at
their own event last weekend, so they will be looking for their first
trophy at GBN in team history.

round-robin format

Metea Valley
Tournament
Metea Valley hosts their first tournament that coincides with
a boys' event at the same location; the Mustangs will be joined by #13 Bremen,
Maine South, and Oak Park for a six-game event.

      Naperville Central Tournament
The Redhawks are back in town to host their own tournament after playing
in the Jenison Tournament last weekend. Jenison makes the trip to
Naperville for this one, where the tenth-ranked Michigan squad will match
up with #1 NC, #12 Sandburg, and #14 Evanston. The teams get underway at
8:00am on Saturday morning and mix in junior-varsity level games
throughout the event until the last game at 5:10pm. Central won last
year's event, while Sandburg finished in second place in 2010.
