Quarterfinal #1: Fenwick 10 Lyons 8

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL - Fenwick survived a furious fourth-quarter rally from Lyons to earn a 10-8 victory in the third state quarterfinal game on Friday night. The Friars seemed to be in control early in the last period with a 10-4 lead, but Lyons put together a 4-0 run over a two-minute span to close the gap to 10-8 with 2:00 left to play. The Friars' experience came into play at the end of the game, however, as they were able to effectively run the majority of the remaining time off the clock to hold on for the win.

Matt Farmer scored 4 goals and Connor Brown added 3 scores in the Fenwick victory. Dan Kelly also scored 2 times and Ted Herbstritt notched a goal as well for the Friars.

David Sekula, Kovas Zygas, and Zach Schoneman each recorded 2 scores for LT, while Joe Shannon and Josh Hirt each tallied one score in the losing effort.
