Week 10 Ballers

 

The following performances during the 2012 sectional finals earned Baller status for Week 10:

 

BOYS

Jordan Palmer (New Trier)

Palmer scored 7 times in a semifinal win over Maine South and tallied 5 goals in a one-goal loss to Loyola in the final game of the GBS Sectional.

 

Kevin Kuchta/Zack Peterson (H-F)

Kuchta and Peterson both recorded 5 goals in the Vikings' 16-8 semifinal victory over Bremen. The duo also registered all 9 of the H-F goals in a 10-9 loss to Lockport in the sectional finals at LWC.

 

Quinn Johnson/Kris Arnold (Bremen)

Johnson totaled 11 goals and Arnold notched 7 scores as the Silver Snakes upset Andrew 17-16 on Thursday but fell to H-F 16-8 in the LWC Sectional semifinals.

 

Matt Reasons (Naperville Central)

Reasons scored 12 goals in the Redhawks' run at sectionals, which included wins over Hinsdale Central and Waubonsie before a 13-8 loss to Naperville North in the sectional final.

 

Dylan Clohessy /Lucas Matthys (McHenry)

Clohessy totaled 9 goals, including a last-minute goal on a penalty shot, as the Warriors nearly outgunned Stevenson in the Palatine Sectional final. He scored 17 total goals at the event. Meanwhile, Matthys totaled 12 goals in wins over Lake Forest and Palatine and in the loss to the Patriots.

 

John Baker (Lake Forest)

Baker led the Scouts with 5 goals in a 12-11 double-overtime win over Libertyville in the sectional quarterfinals and added 6 scores in a semifinal loss to McHenry on Friday night.

 

Randy Carr (Schaumburg)

The Saxons' leading scorer totaled 11 goals in last week's sectionals, helping Schaumburg advance to the title game after wins over Barrington and Conant.

 

Juan Valdez/Kevin Peterson (Stagg)

Valdez scored 4 goals and Peterson added 2 scores in the Chargers 11-9 semifinal upset of Brother Rice, then Peterson scored 4 times and Valdez notched 3 scores in a one-goal loss to Sandburg in the sectional final game.

 

Brayden Amendola/Tym Zymon (St Ignatius)

Amendola netted 6 goals in a 19-14 semifinal win over DLS and contributed 5 scores in the Wolfpack's 14-10 sectional finals loss to Latin. Meanwhile, Zymon blocked a total of 21 shots in the two games for SICP.

 

Dan Kelly (Fenwick)

Kelly notched 4 scores in the Friars 14-9 semifinal win over Oak Park and added 3 goals in Fenwick's 8-7 loss to Lyons in the sectional final game at York.
