Jacob Himmel (Latin)

Himmel scored the game-tying goal at the end of regulation and sealed a shootout win with the clinching goal as Latin held off Lockport 14-13 on Saturday.

McKenna's overtime goal help lift the Dukes past St Patrick 6-5 on Thursday evening.

The Loyola goalkeeper denied 44 shots in the Ramblers' run to second place at the Brother Rice Tournament.

Tom Meyer (GBS)

Meyer made 4 saves for the Titans as they ended up taking third place at their own event over the weekend.

Nya Wilkins (Whitney Young)

Biggest Surprises

BOYS

Maine South Rises To Second Place In CSL

The Hawks improved to 7-1 in their conference this week by earning major wins over both Evanston and GBS, ensuring their highest CSL finish in team history.

SWSC Unpredictability

Most of the teams from the SWSC will play in next month's LWC Sectional. This week's results will undoubtedly make for an intriguing set of contests in May - Lockport defeated Stagg and LWN topped H-F on Monday; Andrew knocked off Lockport and LWE upset LWN on Wednesday; Stagg edged H-F 10-9 on Friday. Get the picture? That sectional is up-for-grabs! (Note: Stagg hosts their own sectional)

GIRLS

LWN Beats LWC...Again

The Phoenix beat the top-seed at the LWC Sectional for the second time this season; this time with both teams at full-strength. The third-seed at next month's event has proven just how unpredictable the results could be when a state berth is on the line.

New Trier Draws With Lyons, Beats St Ignatius

The Trevians are a legitimate contender for a state berth, but they will have their sites set on something more after a tie with Lyons put them in the championship game of the St Ignatius Tournament, where they stunned the hosts 9-8 in overtime.

News and Notes

MSL Race Comes Down To The Wire

Buffalo Grove and Wheeling are all square at 8-1 with just one game left to decide the MSL East winner. Will there be any surprises when the pressure is on each team?

Sectional Field and Schedules Set

In the past week, the sectional seeds and matchups were announced, followed by the game schedules for the entire playoffs in May.

Super Ballers

BOYS

Jordan Palmer (New Trier)

Mike Mulcrone (Brother Rice)

GIRLS

Isabelle Baneaux (New Trier)
