Week 8 Ballers

 

BOYS

Chris Stanek (STC North)

Stanek recorded 5 goals in the North Stars' 8-4 victory over St Rita in the title game of their own event on Saturday. He led the team with 11 goals over the weekend.

 

Danny Farmer/Will Skowron (Fenwick)

Farmer scored 12 goals and Skowron blocked 30 shots and let in less than 5 goals per game as the Friars claimed the Stevenson Tournament title over the weekend. Farmer also scored 4 times and Skowron rehected 8 shots in Fenwick's 16-6 win over Stevenson during the week.

 

Danny Stumpf/Logan Frendreis (York)

Stumpf totaled 10 goals and Frendreis netted 7 scores as the Dukes won their own tournament on Saturday. The duo also scored 6 goals apiece in wins over Lane and Palatine during Week 8.

 

Eric Johnson (St Rita)

Johnson registered 13 goals to help the Mustangs claim a second-place finish at the STC North Tournament.

 

Matt Bachler (Brother Rice)

Bachler tallied 13 goals to lead all scorers at the Stevenson Tournament as Brother Rice knocked off Palatine and New Trier over the weekend.

 

Nate Reiff (Wheeling)

Reiff led all scorers at the STC North Tournament with 18 goals as the Wildcats finished the event in third place.

 

Tommy Kaptur (Lyons)

Kaptur scored 7 goals to help lead the Lions to a 12-10 comeback win over Naperville North on Tuesday night. In addition to his defensive contributions throughout the week, the hole defender scored the game-tying goal to force OT in Lyons' 6-5 win over Oak Park on Saturday.

 

 

GIRLS

Clare Lawlor (Sandburg)

Lawlor totaled 11 goals to help Sandburg finish the week with a 3-0 record after wins over Lockport, Stagg and #19 Wheeling.

 

Fairie Hughes (Whitney Young)

Hughes scored 9 times to help the Dolphins finish in second place at the York Tournament with a 2-1 record.

 

Isabelle Gil (York)

Gil totaled 9 goals to help the Lady Dukes win their own event on Saturday after wins over Latin, Maine East and Whitney Young.
