Week 3 Ballers

 

BOYS

Andrew Roberge (STC East)

Roberge totaled 8 goals in an early week win over Maine East and also scored 4 times in Thursday night's loss to STC North.

 

Brendan Atwood (Maine West)

Atwood connected on the game-winning goal as the buzzer sounded to send Maine West past Evanston 12-11 on Wednesday night. Atwood totaled 7 scores in the winning effort for the Warriors.

 

Christopher Iza (Von Steuben)

Iza registered 3 important goals to help the Panthers edge Jones-Payton 8-7 on Monday as Von Steuben (12-0) stayed perfect in 2016.

 

Matt Merucci (Loyola)

Merucci totaled 7 goals in wins over DeSmet and St Patrick during Week 3 to help the Ramblers post an 8-2 record thus far in 2016.

 

Nathan Bawolek (STC North)

Bawolek scored 5 times to lead the North Stars' offense in a 12-7 win over STC East on Thursday and also led the team with 3 goals in a one-goal loss to Hinsdale South earlier in the week.

 

Thomas Fies (Evanston)

Fies racked up 9 goals in an 11-1 win over Maine East and also led the Wildkits with 5 scores in a one-goal loss to Maine West on Wednesday night.

 

Tim Evely (York)
Evely totaled 5 key goals in a pair of conference wins over Hinsdale Central and Morton during Week 3.

 

Tommy Hagerty/Richard Poma (Glenbrook South)

Hagerty and Poma combined to score 5 goals in the Titans' 6-3 victory over Loyola on Wednesday night. The win moved GBS into the Top 5 as they improved to 9-0 in 2016.

 

 

 

 

GIRLS

Alex Triko/Kimela Srey (Waubonsie Valley)

Triko and Srey both totaled 4 goals in Monday night's win over H-F while Srey scored 3 times and Triko tallied 2 scores in the Warriors' overtime win over Metea Valley on Tuesday.

 

Cailey Davern/Kimmie Bernhard (LWC)

Davern notched 14 scores and Bernhard totaled 9 goals as the Knights placed third at the LWE Tournament.

 

Grace Achepohl (York)

Achepohl recorded 3 goals in the Dukes' 9-5 overtime win over Hinsdale Central and followed that effort with 3 scores in York's 8-5 triumph over Waubonsie Valley on Thursday.

 

Hannah Flynn (Riverside-Brookfield)

Flynn totaled 21 goals, 9 assists and 8 steals during Week 2 as the Bulldogs went 4-2. This week, she helped R-B post a 2-1 record at the LWE Tournament, including a fifth-place finish at the event.

 

Julia Porco (LWN)

Porco helped the Phoenix secure the LWE Tournament title after scoring 10 goals over the three-game event. She also scored two key goals right before halftime to help North respond to a 7-2 run by the hosts in the title game, an 18-13 win over LWE.

 

Nicole McCabe (LWE)

McCabe led the Griffins' offense with 12 goals as her squad finished in second place at their own tournament over the extended weekend.
