Week 10 Super Ballers - Sectional Edition

 

BOYS

Andrew Shashin (Stevenson)

Shashin totaled 9 goals in a pair of wins over McHenry and Mundelein as the Patriots earned a return trip to the state tournament by winning the Buffalo Grove Sectional.

 

Jordan Jopes/Tim Evely (York)

Evely scored 6 goals and Jopes recorded 4 scores to help the Dukes get past St Patrick and Fenwick to win their own sectional and qualify for the state tournament.

 

Robert DePau (Fremd)

DePau scored the game-winning goal in the closing stages of Fremd's 6-5 overtime win over Barrington to help the team win their own sectional. He scored 3 goals in the victory and also led the Vikings' offense with 6 scores in a 17-3 win over Prospect in the semifinal round.

 

 

 

GIRLS

Emily Westlove/Faith Vandercar/Kaela Codo (NC)

Westlove recorded 10 goals, Codo registered 7 scores and Vandercar made 31 saves and allowed 3 goals per game as the Redhawks got past Lockport, Naperville North and STC North to win the Metea Valley Sectional.

 

Geena Peyton/Julie Olivares/Paulina Correa (McAuley)

Olivares and Correa combined to total 7 goals and 10 steals while Peyton blocked 14 shots and limited the defending sectional champions (Lyons) to just 2 goals in an 11-2 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Mighty Macs won the sectional at Lyons to qualify for the state tournament.

 

Sam Wooley (Conant)

Wooley scored 9 goals, including the game-winner in the final minute on Friday night, as the Cougars earned a return trip to the state tournament after getting past Barrington and Fremd in a pair of one-goal games at the Fremd Sectional.
