Week 1 Ballers

 

BOYS

Brendan Chang (GBS) - Chang led the Titans with 10 goals to help GBS to the Conant Tournament title on Saturday after wins over the hosts, STC North and York.

 

Conor Shannon (St Ignatius) - Shannon recorded 11 goals at the Palatine Tournament and added 8 goals in wins over St Rita (16-9) and St Viator (8-1) during Week 1.

 

John Merucci (Loyola) - Merucci scored 19 goals during Week 1, including a 13-goal performance at the Palatine Tournament, as the Ramblers went 4-0 to win the event. He also scored 5 times in a midweek win over Brother Rice.

 

Jose Servin/Misael Bravo (Curie) - Bravo registered 13 scores and Servin notched 9 scores as the Condors finished in second place at the Palatine Tournament after earning wins over McHenry, New Trier and St Ignatius.

 

Matthew Townsend (Neuqua Valley) - Townsend put in 12 goals at the Naperville Tournament over the weekend to help the Wildcats finish with a 3-1 record at the event. He also tallied 6 scores in a 13-10 midweek win over Barrington.

 

Michael Ruben (St Viator) - Ruben led the Lions with 10 goals as the Lions went 3-0 to win the Jones-Payton Tournament on Saturday.

 

 

 

GIRLS

Anna Scovill (Metea Valley) - Scovill tallied 11 goals as the Naperville Tournament to help the Mustangs finish with a 2-1-1 mark. She also recorded 15 goals in a pair of wins over Hinsdale South and LWW during Week 1.

 

Charlotte Albright/Rylee Brower (Naperville Central) Brower scored 18 goals and Albright netted 15 scores as the Redhawks went 4-0 to win the Naperville Tournament over the weekend and also beat GBS earlier in the week.

 

Lauren Day (Conant) - Day totaled 43 saves and helped the Cougars post a 5-0 record in Week 1. She also recorded a shutout win against Lake Forest and allowed just 3 goals per game (including wins over Lane and STC East) as Conant won their own tournament on Saturday.

 

Natalie Starczowski (Argo) - Starczowski amassed 13 goals to help the Argonauts win the Northside Tournament after wins over the hosts, Bradley and Solorio.
