IHSA Announces State Tournament Brackets

Note #1: The following brackets for the state tournament were posted by the IHSA on April 27:

BOYS STATE QUARTERFINALS
Game #1: St Ignatius Sectional vs GBS Sectional
Game #2: Conant Sectional vs Lyons Sectional
Game #3: York Sectional vs LWC Sectional
Game #4: Metea Sectional vs BG Sectional

GIRLS STATE QUARTERFINALS
Game #1: St Ignatius Sectional vs Conant Sectional
Game #2: Metea Sectional vs Lyons Sectional
Game #3: LWC Sectional vs BG Sectional
Game #4: GBS Sectional vs York Sectional

The IHSA utilizes a blind draw to determine the pairings for the state tournament. The first team drawn is placed on the first position of an eight-team bracket and every team drawn after that fills the next spot in the bracket.

In the above listing, the winner of Game 1 will play the winner of Game 2 in the state semifinals, while the winner of Game 3 plays the winner of Game 4 in the second semifinal game.
