THURSDAY'S NOTES

Have you ever checked illpolo.com expecting to see your "name in lights" only to be left disappointed that your game recap or performance was not mentioned on the site? Have you ever wondered why your team rarely gets mentioned or feel that credit has not been given to someone who deserves the recognition? If you have ever asked either of those questions, here is the best answer I can provide you with:

I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED THE INFORMATION! Well, I probably shouldn't yell. However, I would like to point out that I try to post nearly anything I receive on a daily/nightly basis (as long as the source is verified and the information sounds legit, of course). The whole purpose of the site is to provide recognition to the water polo athletes who put in so much to this great sport, so I am always seeking out the maximum amount of information, especially when it comes to scores, recaps, and game performances. The general rule of thumb is...if you don't see it on the site, I probably never received it.

What can you do if you are in this situation? Here are some tips:

1) Encourage your coach to send information to illpolo.com

2) Find a team manager who keeps statistics to send game reports/stats to illpolo.com

3) Request a parent keep track of information for each game and send it to illpolo.com

4) Get the game information yourself and send it to illpolo.com

5) Hope and wish that someone else on your team follows one of these tips and keep checking the site hoping they come through (the least advisable option)

Trust me when I say I want to recognize as many people as possible. So do your best to help promote the sport and make sure that everyone that deserves credit for their performances get some much-needed recognition.
