Semifinal #1: Fenwick (31-2) vs St Ignatius (23-9)

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL - In order for Fenwick to get back to the state title game for the seventh straight season, they will have to beat their second straight Catholic League opponent in order to do it. After holding off Brother Rice 10-8 on Thursday night, the Friars now take on St Ignatius at 9:00am on Saturday in the first semifinal of the day at Stevenson High School.

Back on April 14, Fenwick defeated St Ignatius 17-10. A lot has happened since then, so the Wolfpack will be looking for their best performance of the season after knocking off Latin 8-7 to get to state and then beating McHenry 14-8 on Thursday in the state quarterfinals. They will need great efforts from top scorers Brendan Moore and Mark Alvarado and hope that their defense and goalie Mike Fratto can keep them in the game with a chance to win in the final period.

Fenwick will continue to rely on the senior duo of John Osborne and Will Rigali on the offensive end, while also expecting big things from freshman Matt Farmer.

The winner of this game will await the winner of the following contest between Naperville Central and Mundelein in the state final game, while the loser will play in the consolation game later in the evening.
