Considine paced the Ramblers' offense with 10 goals and Strobel made 28
saves as Loyola won the Catholic League title over the weekend after
beating Brother Rice, Fenwick, and St Rita. Considine registered 4 scores
in wins over the Crusaders and Mustangs, then put in 2 goals in the team's
7-5 title game win over the Friars. Strobel made 8 saves in the
championship game and blocked 10 shots and made a key steal in the final
minute of the semifinal win over Rice.
Alexana Astor (New Trier)
Astor totaled 12 goals in the Trevians' run to the CSL title; she scored 3
goals in the title game win over Maine South, tallied 5 goals in a
semifinal round win over GBN, and put in 4 goals in a quarterfinal victory
over Highland Park. She also recorded 5 goals in a 6-4 win over Naperville
North this week.
Clare Bryar/Kristen Kleist (Mother McAuley)
Bryar and Kleist each scored 3 goals in the Mighty Macs' 12-7 victory over
St Ignatius in the title game of the Catholic League Tournament on
Saturday. They also combined to put in 11 goals in a 16-6 semifinal round
victory over Loyola as Mother McAuley took over the #1 spot for the first
time in the final week of the regular season.
