Week 1 Ballers

 

BOYS

Andrew Shashin/Mitchell Sokolsky (Stevenson)

Shashin and Sokolsky totaled 25 goals over the weekend as the Patriots won their own tournament with wins over Fremd, Niles West, and Wheeling. Sokolsky also led the team with 7 goals in a win over Evanston earlier in the week, while the duo combined to score 7 goals in Thursday's triumph over Palatine.

 

Cameron Shewchuck (Loyola)

Shewchuck notched 15 goals at the Palatine Tournament to help the Ramblers finish the event in second place with a 3-1 record. He also scored 7 times in Thursday's big win over Mundelein and added 3 goals in a 13-9 loss to #1 Fenwick on opening day.

 

Chase Lesniak/Sam Miseyka (Barrington)

Miseyka recorded 16 goals and Lesniak poured in 11 scores as the Broncos won the Highland Park Tournament over the weekend. Lesniak also scored 6 times and Miseyka notched 2 scores in Wednesday's 10-8 victory over Hersey.

 

Kristian Kalev/Omar El Hoffi (Palatine)

El Hoffi totaled 15 goals and Kalev netted 13 scores as the Pirates finished their own tournament in third place with wins over New Trier and McHenry. The duo combined to score 11 of the teams 17 goals in Tuesday's win over Mundelein and added 9 more scores in Wednesday's victory over BG.

 

Mark Hallman (Oak Park)

Hallman registered 12 goals over the weekend as OPRF won the Stagg Tournament with wins over R-B, ST Rita, Stagg, and STC North. He also tallied 5 goals in Thursday's win over Waubonsie Valley and netted 4 scores in a 10-7 loss to #3 Lyons on opening night.

 

 

 

GIRLS

Allison Travetto (Stevenson)

The Patriots' sophomore registered 14 goals in wins over Palatine, Wheeling, and Young to help Stevenson win their own tournament on Saturday. She also slammed in 10 goals in Wednesday night's 22-1 win over Maine South.

 

Angie Skittone/Carmen Rosas/Maddy Demaret (Conant)

Rosas scored 13 goals, Skittone netted 11 scores, and Demaret blocked 25 shots as the Cougars won their own tournament on Saturday afternoon.

 

Hannah Schultz (Bremen)

Schultz totaled 20 goals on Saturday to help Bremen finish second at the Fremd Tournament after wins over the hosts and LWC. She also racked up 4 scores in a mid-week win over H-F.

 

Jilian Eiken/Katie Horn (Naperville North)

The Huskies won the Naperville-area tournament over the weekend as Horn led all scorers with 12 goals and Eiken notched 11 scores. Eiken also scored 4 times in Tuesday's 13-2 win over York, while Horn chipped in with one goal.

 

Marta Considine (Loyola)

Considine recorded 20 goals in Loyola's tournament-winning performance at Fremd on Saturday, as the team beat LWC, Bremen, and the hosts. She also tallied 6 goals on Thursday in a win over GBS.
