No Limit Team Places Third At Ohio Tournament

No Limit took third place at the nine-team Princeton Tournament in Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon. The team lost its' opening game to Ohio's defending state champions, but bounced back with three straight victories to secure a third place finish.

The team lost their opening game 9-6 to Ohio's 2004 state champion Thomas Worthington High School. After erasing a 5-1 deficit in the third quarter and heading to the final quarter tied 6-6, Thomas took a quick 7-6 lead and then added two last-minute goals to earn the win. They would eventual go on to win the entire tournament.

No Limit bounced back with a 10-5 win over Napoleon in their second game. They trailed 6-5 early in the third quarter, but scored 5 unanswered goals to get their first win of the day. They followed that victory with a narrow 13-12 decision over the host school Princeton. No Limit scored a late goal and shut down Princeton in the final minutes with a strong defensive effort.

In the third place game, No Limit wrapped up the weekend with a solid 11-8 win over Milford. Milford pulled to within 10-8 at the end of the third quarter, but No Limit did not allow any fourth quarter goals and iced the game with a late score to get the win.

A team of boys from various Illinois high schools will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio on October 1 and 2 for a tournament at Princeton High School. The tournament, which features eight teams from the Midwest, will feature the two-point shot and a shooting competition at halftime of each game. The players representing the No Limit Water Polo team will play four games over the weekend against several teams from Michigan and Ohio.
