Illpolo To Offer Two Scholarships At The End Of 2005 Season

Illpolo.com is pleased to announce the first year of two scholarship awards to be given at the end of the 2005 season. Through donations, the web site will award two high school seniors who achieve greatness in the sport of water polo as well as in the classroom and the community.
The award winners will be presented with an undetermined monetary award and a certificate of recognition at the end of the 2005 season. This scholarship is a one year, one-time opportunity to be used during the freshman year at any college or university.
One male high school senior will be given 'The Jim Payne Scholarship Award' at the end of the season. Jim Payne has been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) and has participated in studies at Northwestern University that helped locate the first ALS gene. Though the disease causes total paralysis and death, Jim Payne continues to live today to fight the disease.
One female high school senior female will be given 'The Paul Brown Scholarship Award' at the end of the season. Paul Brown passed away earlier this year from natural causes and was a veteran of World War II.
Further details will be provided in the near future as to how to apply for each of these scholarship awards.
