Illpolo.com Site Update

With the water polo season underway, Illpolo.com readers can begin to expect regular updates beginning on Monday, March 7...the first day of official games in Illinois. The following are some important site updates for the 2005 version of the site:
Site progress-As the first games approach on Monday, March 7, look for schedules for all teams to be added during this first week.
Site updates-The site will be updated nightly between the hours of 5:00-11:00pm as scores and updates come in during the season. Additional scores and updates will be added in the morning between 5:00-8:00am.
Fax/game reports-A fax number will be provided for coaches who wish to have written reports about their games. Simply send a copy to the designated number with any additional game notes, and we will be able to create a game recap for public view. A number will be provided within the next week.
Team lineups/pages-Teams have the option of having their own page on the site; I will need a copy of the Varsity roster along with the team schedule in order to post this information. This will allow the user to click on the team name at any time throughout the site to find out more information about the team...at this point, team pages will be created only by request. -
Contact-There are numerous ways to contact the site with information. The main contact is via email at illpolo@yahoo.com. You can also send IM's with score updates to illpolo2005 on AIM. A fax number will be provided for coaches to send game reports.

Rankings-Two seperate rankings will be compiled; one by the site which ranks every team competing in Illinois, and one by selected coaches ranking the Top 20. All coaches interested should contact illpolo@yahoo.com to let us know of your interest; if you are committed to voting once per week for the entire season, then you can be included in the voting process.
Ballers-As always, anyone can submit a request for a player to be a "Baller" at any time throughout the season. Players from any and all teams can be recognized for their accomplishments, with final decisions on who gets recognized made by the site. Players, parents, coaches, and other fans are welcome to submit their nominations.
Reporters-In addition to the scores, schedules, standings, and everything else provided by the site, we are working to include several reporters who will write about various topics throughout the season. Anyone interested in writing an article can send an email to illpolo@yahoo.com, and anyone who is interested in submitting an article for publishing on the site is also welcome to send those to us. We cannot guarantee that every article will be printed, but the more coverage we can provide the better. Also, for high school students/athletes interested in a career or major in journalism or similar career may wish to write articles for the site for work experience and should contact the site to let us know of your interest as well.
Donations-In order for the site to succeed, we are in desperate need of donations to help with the costs associated with covering the sport to the best of our ability.
