NORA KENNELLY
Illpolo.com's Sophomore MVP
Offensive standout Nora
Kennelly led St Ignatius in scoring en route to their second straight
state tournament appearance in 2005. She was selected at Illpolo.com's
Sophomore MVP, plus she was named to the All-Illpolo first team and
the All-State first team at the end of the season. We asked Nora the following
questions in an exclusive Illpolo.com interview:
College choices, major, current GPA?
Undecided GPA- 3.56 first honors since i got to St. Ignatius.
Experience, Club Team, Zone Teams, Off-season work?
8 years from Ridge Park / Now a member of St.
Igantius and Lakeshore Aquatics/ 2 time Zone member team/Off-season
swimming with Chicago Wolfpack Aquatics Club.
When did you start? How? Where?
Started at age 6 at Ridge Park of Chicago Park District my sisters and brother played and swam at Ridge. I was a goalie until my freshman year at St. Ignatius.
Awards and achievements?
2004 5th Team NISCA All-American/ 2004 2nd Team All-State / 2004 1st Team All-Sectional / 2004 team offensive mvp / 2004 illpolo Freshman of the Year.
Personal interests? Music? TV shows?
beck/wilco/ everything basically TV- the daily
show.
Goals for the future with polo? School? Life?
I want to play in college and eventually coach later in life. I also want to teach history.
Motivation, inspiration?
i simply really enjoy playing polo.
First Season role?
starting 2 meter offense.
Soph Year role?
starting 2 meter offensive.

119 goals, 85 Steals, 25 KO's Drawn, 16 Assists / broke sisters record with 11 goals in 1 game
Other?
Invited to try out for National Team after the season.
