Wildcats Earn Elk Grove Title With 4-0 Mark

Libertyville made their way through the field at the Elk Grove Tournament with perfection, grabbing wins over Deer Park, Elk Grove, Maine East, and Meadows en route to their first tournament title of the 2012 season. Molly Bruns and Sam Voelker combined to score 23 goals for the tourney champs.

Elk Grove surprised Maine East 13-5 in the event's nightcap to claim second place. The Blue Demons finished with a 2-2 mark, good enough for third place.

Maria Protic totaled 3 scores and Medina Husejnovic added 2 scores as the Blue Demons edged Meadows 6-3 on Saturday.

Kathryn Noonan scored another 3 goals in the Grenadiers 7-1 triumph over Deer Park.

Libertyville 7 Maine East 5

Molly Bruns and Sam Voelker both recorded 3 scores in the Wildcats' 7-5 victory. Medina Husejnovic put in 2 scores in the loss for the Blue Demons.

Deer Park 10 Meadows 6

Abigail Zemach scored 4 goals, Melissa Barazza notched 3 scores, and Sophie Leib connected on 2 shots in Deer Park's 10-6 win over Meadows. Jessica Dykstra scored 4 times in the loss for the Mustangs.

Libertyville 10 Elk Grove 7

Sam Voelker tallied 5 scores and Molly Bruns notched 2 scores in Libertyville's 10-7 decision over Elk Grove. Kathryn Noonan totaled 4 scores and Alexa Zajac netted 2 goals in the losing effort for the hosts.

Maine East 11 Deer Park 3

Maria Protic registered 5 goals and Medina Husejnovic slammed in 3 scores in the Blue Demons' 11-3 win over Deer Park.

Libertyville 12 Meadows 2

Sam Voelker led the way for the Wildcats with 4 goals in a 12-2 triumph over Meadows on Saturday.
