TOURNAMENT

LT Runs Away With Tournament Title

The second-ranked Lions earned three double-digit victories to claim their own event's title, rounding out the weekend with a emphatic 11-1 win over #3 Loyola in the championship game on Saturday. St Ignatius returned to form with wins over #13 Stevenson and #9 Oak Park, the latter victory coming courtesy of a Billy Barth goal in sudden-death overtime in the third-place game. Meanwhile, York got past Stevenson 9-6 in the event's fifth-place game. Below are a few of the game recaps:

 

Friday's Game Recaps

Oak Park 12 York 6

Troy Williams registered 6 goals in the Huskies' 12-6 win over York.

 

St Ignatius 12 Stevenson 8

Billy Barth scored 4 times, Jaime Juarez added 3 scores, and both Angus Tam and Brayden Amendola notched 2 goals in the Wolfpack's 12-8 victory over Stevenson.

 

Loyola 14 York 6

Charlie Dowdle and Danny Stauder each scored 5 times and Tim Netzel totaled 2 scores and 7 steals as the Ramblers beat York 14-6 in the first round of the LT Tournament.

 

Lyons 17 St Ignatius 3

The hosts opened their slate with a dominant 17-3 victory over St Ignatius. Billy Barth, Tom Dowling, and Brayden Amendola each scored one time in the loss for the Wolfpack.

 

Saturday's Game Recaps

Loyola 15 Oak Park 4

Charlie Dowdle recorded 5 goals and Ben Pasquesi, Brendan Hulseman, and George Finn each netted 2 scores in the Ramblers' 15-4 victory over OPRF.

 

St Ignatius 10 Oak Park 9 -OT- (3rd)

Billy Barth (3 goals) connected on the game-winning goal in sudden-death overtime to gift St Ignatius with a 10-9 win on Saturday afternoon. Brayden Amendola and Jaime Juarez each netted 3 scores in the Wolfpack win. Troy Williams tallied 5 scores in the loss for the Huskies.
