Friday's Game Recaps

Naperville North 16 Buffalo Grove 1

The Huskies raced out to a 13-0 halftime lead and never looked back as they beat Buffalo Grove 16-1 in the tournament-opener for both teams in Naperville. Nolan Roberts led the offense with 6 first-half goals.

 

Glenbrook South 10 Lincoln-Way Central 6

Brant Boczek recorded 4 goals and Jake Nelson netted 3 scores in the Titans' 10-6 win over LWC. Davis Hianik also made 9 saves in the win for GBS.

 

Mundelein 13 Glenbrook North 8

The Mustangs opened their tournament account with a 13-8 victory over GBN. John Roberts put in 5 goals, Robert Liberman netted 3 scores, and Sam Fishman made 8 saves in the loss for the Spartans.

 

Glenbrook South 7 Hinsdale Central 4

Brant Boczek, Peter Dales, and Seamus Heneghan each scored 2 times and Davis Hianik made 13 saves as the Titans defeated Hinsdale Central 7-4. Wade Kinney scored 2 goals and drew 5 ejections in the loss for the Red Devils.

 

Naperville North 13 Glenbrook North 4

Luke Landiak tallied 3 scores and both BD Chapman and Gianmarco Duin scored 2 times as the Huskies earned a 13-4 win over GBN on Friday night. Six other players (Cassano, Holzer, Nash, Roberts, Towers, Yao) each added one goal in the winning effort. John Roberts notched 3 goals and Sam Fishman made 6 saves in the loss for the Spartans.

 

Naperville Central 13 Lincoln-Way Central 4

Joe Bigenwald and Ryan Donahue each netted 3 goals while Adam Hunter, Christian May, and Nick Walker all scored 2 goals in the Redhawks' 13-4 win over LWC. John Duggan netted 2 goals in the loss for the Red Devils.


Saturday's Game Recaps

Glenbrook North 14 Buffalo Grove 9

John Roberts recorded 6 goals, Robert Liberman added 3 scores, and Josh Khasanov totaled 2 goals and 3 assists in the Spartans' 14-9 triumph over BG. Sam Fishman also made 8 saves in the victory for GBN.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 11 Hinsdale Central 6

The Knights claimed their first win of the event by getting past Hinsdale Central 11-6 early on Saturday morning. Wade Kinney totaled 4 goals in the loss for the Red Devils.

 

Naperville North 14 Mundelein 8

Nolan Roberts scored 5 goals, Garrett Nash tallied 3 scores, and the trio of BD Chapman, Drake McClure, and Joe Tomashek each put in 2 scores as the Huskies defeated Mundelein 14-8.

 

Naperville Central 11 Glenbrook South 5

The Redhawks advanced to the title game of their own event by beating GBS 11-5. The Titans were led on the offensive end by Brant Boczek and Jake Nelson, who each scored 2 goals in the losing effort.

 

Buffalo Grove 10 Hinsdale Central 9 (SO)

The Bison outlasted Hinsdale Central 10-9 in a shootout finish in the seventh-place game of the Naperville Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The teams finished regulation tied at 9-9, then neither team could put in their first three attempts in the shootout. Buffalo Grove finally broke the deadlock, the Red Devils could not equalize, and the Bison left the event with their first win under their belts. Wade Kinney put in 3 goals and both Jack Duggan and Wes Berger scored 2 times in the loss for Hinsdale Central.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 11 Glenbrook North 10

The Knights scored two goals in the final minute to stun GBN 11-10 in the fifth-place game of the Best of the West Tournament on Saturday. Robert Liberman scored 5 goals, John Khasanov put in 2 goals, John Roberts scored once, and Sam Fishman made 9 saves in the loss for the Spartans.

 

Glenbrook South 13 Mundelein 12 (SO)

Brant Boczek scored 4 times, Jake Nelson added 3 goals and Davis Hianik made 16 saves as the Titans held off Mundelein 13-12 in the third-place game on Saturday in Naperville. The teams ended regulation tied at 9-9 before GBS won the ensuing shootout 4-3. Jude Krauss recorded 7 goals, Mike Ward netted 3 goals, and both Art Kasemets and Andrew Gray scored once in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Naperville North 12 Naperville Central 9

Drake McClure recorded 3 goals and both Garrett Nash and Gianmarco Duin scored 2 times as Naperville North outlasted Naperville Central 12-9 in the title game of the Best of the West Tournament.
