BROTHER RICE TOURNAMENT

Lockport 11 Latin 2

Eric Krawczyk netted 3 goals while the trio of Matt Cavanaugh, Steven Howell and Tommy Boland each scored 2 times in the Porters' 11-2 win over Latin. Matt Hinchley and Pat Melaniphy combined to make 12 saves and Joey Tomczuk also added one score in the victory.

 

St Rita 20 Hinsdale Central 6

Eric Johnson recorded 7 goals, Matt Lopez netted 5 scores and Lorenzo Henrichs tallied 4 scores as the Mustangs defeated Hinsdale Central 20-6. Dan Sliazis, Ethan Johnson and Kevin Cronin rounded out the scoring while Sliazis also drew two penalty shots for the victors.

 

Lockport 14 St Patrick 7

Eric Johnson and Joey Tomczuk each scored 4 goals and Pat Melaniphy blocked 14 shots to help lift the Porters over St Patrick 14-7 and into the event's title game later this evening. Steven Howell and Zach Elias each added 2 goals while Eric Krawczyk and Matt Cavanaugh both scored once in the win.

 

St Rita 19 Lockport 9

Eric Johnson recorded 8 goals and Matt Lopez scored 4 times as the Mustangs beat Lockport 19-9 to win the Brother Rice Tournament on Saturday night. Matt Pitrikus stepped his game up for the title game by scoring the first 3 goals of his varsity career while Lorenzo Henrichs added 2 scores in the win.

 

 

GLENBROOK SOUTH TOURNAMENT

Libertyville 7 Prospect 5

Christian Hobson and Jacob Lex both scored 2 goals to help the Wildcats gets past Prospect 7-5. George Schober and Sam Gabriel each tallied 2 scores in the loss for the Knights.

 

Palatine 9 Hersey 8

Ryan Schlaiss recorded 4 goals and Marcus Carter-Buckman netted 3 goals to lead the Pirates to a 9-8 victory over Hersey. Jake Conrad also made 12 saves in the winning effort. Eric Deitrich notched 4 scores in the loss for the Huskies.

 

Evanston 11 Lake Forest 6

Sean Finn-Samuels and Thomas Fies both totaled 3 goals to lead the Wildkits past Lake Forest 11-6. David Nelson and Daniel Smith both notched 2 scores in the losing effort.

 

Prospect 7 Hersey 7

Sam Gabriel totaled 5 goals for the Knights while Sean Prior scored 3 times for the Huskies as the two MSL East squads finished in a 7-7 tie in the seventh-place bracket of the GBS Tournament.

 

Libertyville 11 Palatine 6

Michael Watson scored 3 times for the Wildcats as they defeated Palatine 11-6. Jacob Baran put in 2 goals and Jake Conrad stopped 11 shots in the loss for the Pirates.

 

Glenbrook South 9 New Trier 9

The opening game of the championship round between the hosts and New Trier finished in a 9-9 draw. Tommy Hagerty scored 4 goals, Danny Dragman and Richard Poma each scored 2 goals and Davis Hianik made 9 saves for the Titans, while Alex Grant buried 6 goals for the Trevians.

 

Prospect 7 Lake Forest 7

The Knights and Scouts finished in a 7-7 tie in the second game of the seventh-place bracket of the event. Sam Gabriel scored 3 goals to lead Prospect while Nico Demet tallied 4 scores for Lake Forest.

 

Evanston 8 Libertyville 5

Liam O'Connor and Sean Finn-Samuels both scored 2 goals to help Evanston get past Libertyville 8-5. Alex Kratcoski netted 2 goals in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

New Trier 12 Naperville North 5

Alex Grant scored 9 goals to lead the Trevians past Naperville North 12-5. Cole Jacobs, Drake McClure, David Holzer, Reilly McDonnell and Spencer Wallace each scored once in the loss for the Huskies.

 

Hersey 8 Lake Forest 2

Jake Hall totaled 4 goals to help lead the Huskies to an 8-2 victory over Lake Forest.

 

Evanston 10 Palatine 7

Liam O'Connor scored 4 goals to help lead the Wildkits past Palatine 10-7 to win the fourth-place bracket of the event. Ryan Schlaiss scored 4 times, Colin White put in 2 goals and Jake Conrad made 9 saves in the Pirates' loss.

 

Glenbrook South 9 Naperville North 8

Peter Dales recorded 4 goals, Tommy Hagerty netted 3 goals and Davis Hianik made 12 saves to help the hosts edge Naperville North 9-8. The Titans clinched a second place finish at their own event, losing the tiebreaker to New Trier, who they tied earlier in the day. Drake McClure totaled 4 scores in the loss for the Huskies.

 

 

METEA VALLEY TOURNAMENT

Neuqua Valley 12 Bradley 1

Ian Ivkovich, Jack Angus and Simon Shatinsky each scored 2 goals, Joey Dalesandro led the defense with 8 steals, and Austin Mollway made 8 saves as the Wildcats downed Bradley 12-1.

 

Neuqua Valley 16 Maine South 4

Simon Shatinsky recorded 5 goals and Joey Dalesandro totaled 4 goals and 5 assists in the Wildcats' 16-4 win over Maine South. Ian Ivkovich and Troy Salafatinos each added 2 goals while Austin Mollway made 10 stops for the victors.

 

Neuqua Valley 16 Metea Valley 4

Simon Shatinsky scored 3 times, Brandon Gorski and Troy Salafatinos each tallied 2 scores and Joey Dalesandro scored once and led the defense with 11 steals as the Wildcats won the event after beating Metea Valley 16-4.

 

 

MUNDELEIN TOURNAMENT

Homewood-Flossmoor 5 Mundelein 3

Robbie Schloen scored 3 goals, Haden Santefort netted 2 scores and Luke Santefort made 14 saves to help lead the Vikings past Mundelein 5-3.

 

 

NILES WEST TOURNAMENT

STC North 4 Niles West 3

Chris Stanek totaled 3 goals and 4 steals and John Pretet added a key goal as the North Stars fended off Niles West 4-3 on Saturday. Garrett Allamian also made 6 saves in the win for North.

 

STC North 10 Wheeling 8

Jon Gallee's goal in the final period held up as the game-winner as STC North beat Wheeling 10-8. Ryan Helfers scored 3 times, Gallee put in 2 scores and Garrett Allamian made 7 saves in the victory.

 

STC North 6 Oak Park 4

Chris Stanek totaled 4 goals, Nathan Bawolek and Ryan Helfers each scored once and Garrett Allamian stopped 9 shots as the North Stars beat Oak Park 6-4 to win the event.

 

 

R-B TOURNAMENT

R-B 17 Morton 5

Dan Magee and Jack Robling each totaled 5 goals while Dominic Rosa added 4 goals as the Bulldogs beat Morton 17-5. Paul Sitkiewicz netted 3 scores and Cole Greenwell made 9 saves for the victors.

 

R-B 14 New Trier 'B' 6

Dan Magee and Dominic Rosa each scored 4 times, Joey Rosa scored 3 goals and Paul Sitkiewicz put in 2 scores in the Bulldogs' 14-6 win over New Trier. Cole Greenwell stopped 11 shots in the winning effort.

 

R-B 9 Hoffman 5

Dan Magee scored 3 goals, Dominic Rosa netted 2 goals and Paul Sitkiewicz scored once in the Bulldogs' 9-5 win over Hoffman. Cole Greenwell made 15 saves in the victory.

 

R-B 17 Maine East 5

Dan Magee and Paul Sitkiewicz each scored 4 times and both Dominic Rosa and Joey Rosa scored 3 goals as R-B beat Maine East 17-5 to win their own event.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Schaumburg 13 McHenry 12

Christian Zielinski scored 7 goals and Edin Latic made 17 saves as the Saxons held off McHenry 13-12 on Saturday morning in a nonconference affair. Jack Pyde tallied 4 scores while both Frank Kovar and Tyler Gustafson netted one goal for the winners. Garrett Floden scored 4 goals, while Kyle Braun and Jackson Smith each put in 3 scores in the loss for the Warriors.

Glenbrook North 15 Lincoln-Way East 6

Lindsay Fraser netted 7 goals and Lauren Sulkowski scored 3 times in the Spartans' 15-6 win over LWE. Colleen Doolan and Patti Grod both added 2 goals while Melaney Van Spankeren rounded out the scoring with a goal in the winning effort.

 

Glenbrook North 9 Highland Park 3

Lindsay Fraser recorded 5 goals and Colleen Doolan scored 2 times as GBN downed Highland Park 9-3. Emily Schwander and Patricia Doolan each added one goal in the win for the hosts.

 

Glenbrook North 16 Hoffman 3

Lindsay Fraser netted 5 goals and Emily Callahan scored 3 times as the Spartans beat Hoffman 16-3. Colleen Doolan, Kathleen Nolan and Patricia Doolan each added 2 goals while Lauren Sulkowski and Kendall Crispen both scored once in the win.

Morgan Miller totaled 5 goals, Catherine Carroll and Zoe Salafatinos each scored 2 times and Issi French stopped 8 shots in one half of play as the Wildcats beat Bradley 9-6.

Morgan Miller recorded 5 goals and 4 steals and both Jonel Carroll and Zoe Salafatinos scored 3 times to help the Wildcats get past Maine South 14-4. Julia Stege added 2 goals, Emily Nelmark led the defense with 6 steals and Issi French made 12 saves for the victors. Heather Sterchele also scored once for NVHS.

 

Neuqua Valley 13 Metea Valley 5

Morgan Miller scored 5 goals and Zoe Salafatinos tallied 4 scores as the Wildcats beat Metea Valley 13-5 on Saturday. Issi French also scored 2 times, dished out 4 assists and made 5 saves in the win. Catherine Carroll, Amy Blencowe and Emily Nelmark each added one goal in the victory. Meanwhile, Miller led the defense with 13 steals.

 

 

NAPERVILLE CENTRAL TOURNAMENT

Naperville Central 6 Evanston 3

Kaela Codo scored 4 goals, Emily Westlove added 2 key goals in the fourth quarter, and Faith Vandercar blocked 15 shots as the Redhawks held off Evanston 6-3 on Saturday morning. Becca Schumm notched all 3 scores for the Wildkits in the loss.

 

Sandburg 12 Jenison 4

Sarah Dolitsky recorded 8 goals and Morgan Bartelment made 17 saves in the Eagles' 12-4 victory over Jenison. The victors used a 7-1 run in the second half to secure the win. Stephanie Pappas scored 2 times and both Katie Flaherty and Mia Robin scored once for Sandburg. Bailey Arnold and Morgan Vanderschaaf both scored 2 times in the loss for the Michigan squad.

 

Sandburg 9 Evanston 3

Stephanie Pappas totaled 3 goals while the trio of Clare Lawlor, Mia Robin and Sarah Dolitsky each put in 2 goals in the Eagles' 9-3 victory over Evanston. Morgan Bartelment made 8 saves as well for the victors. Emily Mohrenweiser, Millie Rosen and Stephanie Sheikh each scored once and Olivia Everhart stopped 11 shots in the loss for the Wildkits.

 

Naperville Central 8 Jenison 1

Emily Rodgers and Kaela Codo each scored 3 goals and Faith Vandercar allowed one goal and stopped 5 shots in the Redhawks' 8-1 win. Alli Hansen and Jennifer Oliver each added one goal in the win. Haven Westra scored the only tally of the game for the visitors.

 

 

NAPERVILLE NORTH TOURNAMENT

Oak Park 13 Meadows 1

Jilly Cronin registered 3 goals and both Claire Rolfes and Genevieve Curry notched 2 scores to lead the Huskies past Meadows 13-1. Jordin Hale also made 10 stops in the winning effort. Erin Pletch scored the lone goal in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Naperville North 9 Oak Park 2

Caitlin Holzer and Eley Matern each scored 3 goals and Katie Horn scored 2 times as North defeated OPRF 9-2. Jilian Eiken also scored once for a Huskies' team that held Oak Park scoreless for three consecutive quarters to secure the win. Jilly Cronin scored both goals and Jordin Hale blocked 12 shots in the loss for the visitors.

 

Hinsdale Central 8 Meadows 5

Nina Relias tallied 4 goals and Heather DeBoer added 2 scores in the Red Devils' 8-5 win over Meadows. Kelly Williams and Lauren Hamp each added one score and Samara Lillioja made 6 stops in the victory. Erin Pletch recorded 3 goals and Sara Luedloff scored 2 times in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Naperville North 11 Meadows 4

Alli Horn recorded 3 goals and both Amber McClure and Jilian Eiken netted 2 scores as the Huskies topped Meadows 11-4. Allison Ray, Katie Horn, Lauren Liberio and Olivia Eiken each added one score in the win. Erin Pletch tallied 2 scores while Emily Walters and Jessie Ligenza each scored once in the losing effort.

 

Oak Park 11 Hinsdale Central 3

Genevieve Curry registered 3 goals and both Jilly Cronin and Mia Andreoli scored 2 times to help the Huskies beat Hinsdale Central 11-3. Jordin Hale stopped 9 shots as well in the OPRF win. Lauren Hamp, Mary Kress and Nina Relias each scored once and Samara Lillioja made 10 saves in the loss for Central.

 

 

STEVENSON TOURNAMENT

Skyline 15 Mundelein 3

Riley Beemer recorded 5 goals to help lead Skyline past Mundelein 15-3. Emily Garcia scored 2 times and Lauren Blake added one goal in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Mother McAuley 8 EGR 1

Claire Mueller registered 4 goals and Maggie Hennigan netted 2 scores as the Mighty Macs beat EGR 8-1. Greta McDermott and Julie Olivares each added one score in the win for McAuley.

 

Stevenson 8 Skyline 3

Allison Travetto and Claire Haas each recorded 3 goals to help the hosts pull away from Skyline to earn an 8-3 victory on Saturday morning. Annika Hotchkiss and Melissa Gartenberg each scored once in the winning effort.

 

Fenwick 9 Okemos 7

Jillian Wickham scored the game-winning goal early in the fourth quarter and Clare Durkin added a quick insurance goal as the Friars edged Okemos 9-7. Fenwick held Okemos scoreless for the final ten minutes of the encounter to emerge with the win. Catie Wallace and Shannon Forst each scored 2 goals as well in the winning effort. Sarah Williams scored 5 goals and Sydney Fountain put in 2 goals in the loss.

 

Mundelein 9 EGR 6

Emily Garcia notched 5 goals and Lauren Blake scored 4 times in the Mustangs' 9-6 win over EGR.

 

Rockford 6 Mother McAuley 2

Hannah Raymond and Lexi Chisholm each scored 2 goals to lead Rockford past Mother McAuley 6-2. Fran Bauer and Claire Mueller each scored once in the loss for the Mighty Macs.

 

Fenwick 5 Skyline 4

Shannon Forst scored with 0:41 left in regulation to send Fenwick past Skyline 5-4 as the Friars finished the event with a perfect record. Forst and Catie Wallace each scored 2 goals while Arianna Dakuras put in one score in the victory. Riley Beemer led Skyline with 3 scores in the losing effort.

 

Stevenson 18 EGR 2

Allison Travetto recorded 4 goals and Claire Haas notched 3 scores in the Patriots' 18-2 victory over EGR. Eileen Hoang and Fiona Gaffney each added 2 scores in the winning effort.

 

Rockford 13 Mundelein 1

Hannah Raymond scored 6 goals and Lexi Chisholm added 2 scores as the Rams downed Mundelein 13-1. Lauren Blake scored the lone goal in the loss for the Mustangs.
