The Lions and Trevians get together for a quick rematch after LT beat New Trier 7-6 last weekend at the Stevenson Tournament.

The Wildcats and Eagles both have their sights set on a state tournament berth and could end up playing for a sectional title at Neuqua Valley if all goes according to their plans. That makes this test an intriguing contest for both teams on Tuesday night.

 

KEEP AN EYE ON

6:00pm - #20 Wheeling at #8 New Trier

The Wildcats face one last difficult opponent when they head to Winnetka to take on New Trier on the eve of the MSL title game against Conant. The Trevians, who have been steadily climbing the rankings after a slow start to the season, seek another win over a Top 25 opponent as the CSL Tournament nears.

Neuqua Valley 13 Lockport 12

Joey Dalesandro totaled 3 goals and 6 steals and the trio of Jack Angus, Scott DePuy and Troy Salafatinos each scored 2 times as the Wildcats fended off Lockport 13-12. Austin Mollway made 13 saves in the win while Carter Edwards, Lucas Becker, Ian Ivkovich and Simon Shatinsky all scored once for NVHS. Zach Elias scored 6 times, Eric Johnson and Joey Tomczuk each netted 2 goals and Pat Melaniphy stopped 11 shots in the loss for the Porters.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Lyons 17 New Trier 7

Tommy Kaptur registered 5 goals and Sam Szczepaniak netted 4 scores in the Lions' 17-7 victory over New Trier on Tuesday.

 

Naperville North 16 Hinsdale South 8

Drake McClure racked up 6 goals to lead the Huskies past Hinsdale South 16-8 on Tuesday night. Charlie Ovens also scored 3 times while Joe Tomashek and Reilly McDonnell each added 2 goals. Jake Roche led the defense with 17 saves.

 

St Viator 13 Maine West 9

Keegan Finn and Shea Boyer each scored 5 goals and Frank Skorski rejected 9 shots in the Lions' 13-9 nonconference win over Maine West. Alec Resendez and Patrick Gallant each tallied one score as well for the winners.

Sandburg 12 Neuqua Valley 5

Sarah Dolitsky recorded 5 goals and Clare Lawlor scored 4 times as the Eagles earned a 12-5 road win over Neuqua Valley on Tuesday night. Stephanie Pappas totaled 2 goals, 4 assists and 3 steals while Morgan Bartelment stopped 6 shots for the victors. Morgan Miller totaled 4 goals and 3 steals, Catherine Carroll scored once and Issi French made 18 saves in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Conant 9 Bremen 5

Sam Wooley scored 3 goals and made 4 steals, Carmen Rosas added 3 goals and Maddy Demaret totaled 15 saves and 6 steals in Conant's 9-5 victory over Bremen. Jillian Schultz tallied 3 scores and both Leah Wood and Elizabeth Minnich scored once in the loss for the Red Jaguars.

 

Naperville North 16 Hinsdale South 6

Jilian Eiken totaled 6 goals while Eley Matern, Lauren Liberio, Katie Horn and Taylor Stoner each scored 2 times in the Huskies' 16-6 victory over Hinsdale South. Amber McClure and Danielle Pugh both tallied one score as well for the victors.

 

New Trier 12 Wheeling 10

The Trevians earned a 12-10 victory over Wheeling on Tuesday night. Statistics for winners coming soon. Theresa Godlewski recorded 7 goals, Argelia Diaz netted 2 scores and Jenna Pink scored once in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

STC North 8 Meadows 2

Katie Difiglio scored 5 goals, Katie Quinn made 5 steals and Claire Rich stopped 16 shots to lead the North Stars past Meadows 8-2. Abby Ponte, Lucy Tykal and Monica Guyett each added one goal in the victory.
