2019 NCAA Men's Water Polo - IL players update - Week 11 (11/18 - 11/24)
Summary:
- Mason McQuet had 3 goals, 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 drawn exclusion as #6
UCSB went 2-1 and finished 3rd in the GCC tournament. They beat #15 UC
Irvine, lost to #5 Pepperdine and upset #4 Pacific. UCSB did not get an
at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
- Henry Yavitt had 2 goals in two games as Air Force went 1-1 and finished
7th in the WWPA tournament.
- Iona went 0-2 and finished 6th in the NWPC tournament. Contributing were
Philip Wachowski (3 goals), Brett Hofer (2 goals, 4 drawn exclusions),
Andrew Brozovic (2 goals, 1 drawn exclusion) and Justin Ginsberg (1 goal, 2
assists, 1 steal, 2 drawn exclusions).
- Navy went 2-1 and finished 3rd in the MAWPC tournament. Contributing were
Cole Jacobs (3 goals, 1 assist, 2 steals), Nate Reiff (2 goals) and Andrew
Shashin (1 goal, 2 drawn exclusions).
- Shane Hughes played his last three games for Santa Clara as they went 1-2
and finished 4th in the WWPA tournament. Hughes had 4 goals, 1 assist and 5
steals to cap a stellar career at Santa Clara.
- Concordia finished 6th in the WWPA tournament. Nick Walker (2 goals, 1
assist, 1 steal) and Cristiano Tomassetti (2 goals, 3 steals) contributed in
the final two games of their collegiate careers.
- Kyle Jackson had 3 goals in his final game for Redlands as the Bulldogs
lost to DIII #1 Whittier in the SCIAC tournament semifinals.
- the Griffith brothers played a role as Austin College went 1-2 and
finished 6th in the MPSF tournament. Cade had 3 goals, 1 steal and 1 drawn
exclusion while Zach had 20 saves and 4 steals in goal.
