TOURNAMENT RECAP (March 15-16)

Ramblers Successful In Naperville

Evan Swenson scored 15 goals and Meredith O'Brien made 35 saves to lead Loyola to a 3-0 record and a first-place finish at the Naperville North Tournament over the weekend. The Ramblers cruised to a Friday night win over R-B before edging the hosts by a goal on Saturday morning and then getting past Neuqua 13-6 to finish the two-day event with a 3-0 record. The hosts started the tournament off with a 7-5 win over Neuqua Valley and ended it with a 12-1 win over R-B to claim second place, while the Wildcats got past R-B by a 6-3 margin to finish the weekend in third position.

Friday's Game Recaps

Naperville North 7 Neuqua Valley 5

Katie Horn recorded 4 goals and Taylor Bridgman contributed 2 scores in the Huskies' 7-5 victory over Neuqua Valley. Kim Lechowicz also added a goal in the win for North. Ann Kathrin Becker led NVHS with 2 scores, while Brooke Bedford, Deanna Hoff, and Devon Olson each added a goal in the loss.

Loyola 17 Riverside-Brookfield 2

Evan Swenson slotted in 7 goals, Marta Considine netted 4 scores, and Allison Sajnaj chipped in with 3 goals as Loyola earned a 17-2 victory over R-B on Friday night. Ellen Garrity, Emi Crogan, and Katie Lynch each scored once in the Ramblers' win. Dana Callanan and Lucia Adami both notched one score each in the loss for R-B.

Evan Swenson scored 5 goals and Marta Considine put in 4 scores as Loyola topped Neuqua Valley 13-6. Allison Sajnaj added 3 scores and Meredith O'Brien made 7 saves and blocked 2 penalty shots in the win. Devon Olson tallied 3 scores and Brooke Bedford added 2 scores in the loss for the Wildcats.

Neuqua Valley 6 R-B 3

Ann Kathrin Becker, Brooke Bedford, Deanna Hoff, Devon Olson, Kaitlyn Gorski, and Lauren Harder each scored once in NV's 6-3 triumph over R-B.

Naperville North 12 R-B 1

Jillian Eiken totaled 5 goals and Katie Horn added 3 scores as the Huskies defeated R-B by a 12-1 margin. Sydney Veon scored the only goal for the Bulldogs.
