Haden Santefort totaled 3 goals and eight different players got on the scoresheet for the Vikings in a 13-8 win over St Patrick. Joseph Gibson notched 4 scores and Anthony Barsano scored 2 times in the loss for the Shamrocks.

 

Brother Rice 14 DeSmet 4

Matt Bachler recorded 4 goals and both Brennan Russell and James Ryan netted 3 scores as Brother Rice knocked off DeSmet 14-4.

 

Oak Park 8 Lincoln-Way East 6

Josh Gronwold registered 4 goals to lead the Huskies to an 8-6 victory over LWE. Bryan McNitt scored 3 times in the loss for the Griffins.

 

Fenwick 16 Stevenson 9

Danny Farmer and Jack Mahoney each scored 4 goals and Andrew Bertschy added 3 scores as the Friars used a 5-1 run in the second period to pull away from Stevenson and earn a 16-9 win. Ryan Masi also scored 2 times in the winning effort. Andrew Shashin led the Patriots with 2 scores in the loss.

 

Naperville Central 9 St Ignatius 6

Nick Walker scored 3 times and both Kyle Jackson and Phillp Emden scored 2 goals as Naperville Central overcame an early 3-0 deficit to beat St Ignatius 9-6. Gunnar Glaab totaled 3 goals and Shane Hughes scored 2 goals in the losing effort.

 

Lyons 10 Naperville North 7

Thomas Waters registered 3 goals while George Lundgren, Nathan Henderson, and Sam Szczepaniak put in 2 goals apiece in the Lions' 10-7 victory over the Huskies. Cole Jacobs, Drake McClure, and David Holzer each connected on 2 shots in the loss for North.

 

Neuqua Valley 9 Curie 4

Simon Shatinsky threw down 4 goals and five other Wildcats joined him on the scoresheet as Neuqua got past Curie 9-4 on Saturday. Jeronimo Chavez led the Condors with 3 scores in the loss.

 

St Patrick 17 DeSmet 12

Mike Taylor celebrated his sixteenth birthday by scoring 3 goals and helping the Shamrocks beat DeSmet 17-12 on Saturday afternoon. Joseph Gibson led the team with 7 goals and Anthony Barsano recorded 4 goals in the winning effort.

 

Brother Rice 8 Homewood-Flossmoor 4

Brennan Russell registered 3 goals and Matt Bachler scored 2 times to help lead the Crusaders past the Vikings 8-4. Haden Santefort contributed 2 goals in the loss for H-F.

Tommy Kaptur found the back of the net 3 times and Sam Szczepaniak netted 2 scores to help the Lions outlast Neuqua Valley 9-8 in overtime. Scott DePuy recorded 3 goals in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

Naperville North 7 Curie 4

Cole Jacobs and David Holzer both scored 3 goals while Charlie Calvo, Drake McClure, and Joe Tomashek each added one score in the Huskies' 7-4 win over Curie. Omar Pantoja scored 3 times and Jeronimo Chavez added an additional goal for the Condors.

 

Fenwick 10 Naperville Central 7

Danny Farmer and his ruthless backhand proved to be unstoppable for the Redhawks as the Friars' senior scored 7 times to lead the hosts to a 10-7 title-game victory over Naperville Central. Ryan Masi added 2 goals, DJ Perez scored once and Will Skowron made 7 saves in the win.

 

Stevenson 13 St Ignatius 5

Alex Kapecki, Cris Tomasetti, and Kurt Holzer each scored 3 goals while Andrew Shashin added 2 scores as Stevenson won the third-place game of the event by beating St Ignatius 13-5. Shane Hughes tallied 3 scores and Gunnar Glaab added 2 goals in the Wolfpack loss.

 

 

EVANSTON TOURNAMENT

St Viator 12 Glenbrook South 4

Alec Resendez and Keegan Finn each scored 3 goals and Shea Boyer scored 2 times in the Lions' 12-4 victory over GBS. Frank Skorski also made 8 saves in the win.

 

St Viator 10 Parkway Central 4

Keegan Finn tallied 3 scores and the trio of Alec Resendez, Dante Cerone, and Shea Boyer each scored 2 times in Viator's 10-4 victory over Parkway Central.

 

St Viator 11 Glenbrook North 5

Keegan Finn recorded 4 goals and Frank Skorski blocked 9 shots in the Lions' 11-5 triumph over GBN.

 

St Viator 12 Bremen 8

Alec Resendez and Keegan Finn both notched 3 scores and Frank Skorski made 11 saves as St Viator defeated Bremen 12-8.

 

St Viator 5 Evanston 3

Keegan Finn netted 3 scores and Frank Skorski made 11 saves as the Lions beat Evanston 5-3 to win the event.

 

 

HINSDALE SOUTH TOURNAMENT

Andrew 11 Morton 2

Dan Cavato and Luke Gacek combined to score 5 goals and the goaltending duo of Colin Havorka and Mike Brennan stopped 6 shots in front of a defense that totaled 21 steals as Andrew beat Morton 11-2.

 

STC East 18 Mt Carmel 0

Andrew Roberge, Ethan Braham, and Jack Sweeney each tallied 4 scores and Charlie Young registered 2 goals as the Saints shutout Mt Carmel 18-0.

 

Andrew 19 Shepard 2

The T-Bolts jumped out to a 12-1 halftime lead en route to a 19-2 victory over Shepard to advance to the event's title game. Broderick Garren led the offense with 5 goals while Colin Havorka and Mike Brennan teamed up to make 13 saves in the win. Ben Welch and Brett Hofer each added 2 scores and both Matt Bobber and Ronnie Cope tallied 2 scores in the winning effort.

 

STC East 4 Hinsdale South 3

Jack Sweeney registered 2 goals and both Andrew Roberge and Ethan Braham scored once as the Saints held off the hosts 4-3 to advance to the HS Tournament title game. Dan Milosevich, Danny Savage, and Ryan Chu each scored once in the loss for the Hornets.

 

Andrew 5 STC East 0

Dan Cavato scored 2 goals while Brett Hofer, Eric Villasenor, and Nick Osty each put in one goal to help the T-Bolts blank the Saints 5-0 in the event's title game. Colin Havorka and Mike Brennan combined to stop 8 shots while earning the shutout victory.

 

 

LWN TOURNAMENT

Waubonsie Valley 11 Lincoln-Way North 8

Cameron Steele recorded 10 goals and drew 3 ejections to lead the Warriors past the hosts 11-8. Kay Andressen added one goal and Cedrick Chan totaled 5 blocks in the victory.

 

Waubonsie Valley 10 CBC 2

Cameron Steele scored 3 goals and the trio of Jared Marrs, Ian Reyes, and Wyatt Tiscareno each netted 2 goals in the Warriors' 10-2 win over CBC. Cedrick Chan also made 9 saves in the win for Waubonsie.

 

STC North 9 Lincoln-Way North 4

Chris Stanek and Ryan Helfers each scored 2 goals and Nathan Bawolek made 6 steals to help lift STC North over LWN 9-4. John Pretet, Jack Williams, Jon Gallee, Sam Lilly and Zach Smith each added one score and Garrett Allamian made 5 saves in the victory.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 11 Waubonsie Valley 7

The Knights wrapped up their first-ever tournament title by beating Waubonsie Valley 11-7. Statistics for the winners coming soon. Cameron Steele recorded 3 goals, Kay Andresson netted 2 goals, and Cedrick Chan stopped 11 shots in the losing effort.

 

STC North 12 CBC 1

Jack Williams registered 4 goals, Chris Stanek totaled 3 goals and 3 assists, and Sam Lilly netted 2 goals in the North Stars' 12-1 win over CBC. Jeremy Leal and Ryan Helfers each added one score for North.

 

 

MUNDELEIN TOURNAMENT

Lockport 13 Libertyville 2

Eric Johnson recorded 4 goals, Joey Tomczuk netted 3 scores, and Pat Melaniphy made 13 saves as the Porters defeated Libertyville 13-2 on Saturday. Zach Elias notched 2 scores and both Eric Krawczyk and Matt Cavanaugh tallied one score in the winning effort.

 

Lockport 9 Niles West 8

Joey Tomczuk scored the eventual game-winning goal in the final minute and totaled 3 scores altogether as the Porters fended off Niles West 9-8 to advance to the event's title game. Eric Johnson added 2 goals and Pat Melaniphy made 7 saves in the narrow win.

 

New Trier 10 Niles West 3

Chris Keller totaled 4 scores and Michael Krueger notched 2 scores to help lead the Trevians past Niles West 10-3 in the third-place game of the Mundelein Tournament.

 

Lockport 6 Lindbergh 5

Eric Johnson scored 5 goals and Pat Melaniphy made 14 saves as Lockport beat Lindbergh 6-5 to win the Mundelein Tournament. Steven Howell also scored once in the win.

 

 

SCHAUMBURG TOURNAMENT

Schaumburg 12 Whitney Young 8

Tyler Gustafson scored 5 goals and James Birriel put in 4 goals in the Saxons' 12-8 win over Young. Frank Kovar also scored 2 times and Edin Latic made 8 saves in the victory. Duncan McDonald led the Dolphins with 4 scores in the loss.

 

Lafayette 13 Lincoln-Way West 8

Rastko Stojsin totaled 4 goals to lead the Lancers to a 13-8 victory over Lincoln-Way West. Kyle Karpluk and Jake Carlson each tallied 3 scores in the loss for the Warriors.

 

St Rita 12 McHenry 7

Eric Johnson scored 6 times and Lorenzo Henrichs put in 3 goals as the Mustangs defeated McHenry 12-7. Jackson Smith and Kevin Braun both put in 2 scores in the loss for the Warriors.

 

Schaumburg 18 Wheeling 8

Christian Zielinski, James Birriel, Nicholas Peterson, and Tyler Gustafson each recorded 3 goal to help the Saxons earn an 18-8 win over Wheeling. Edin Latic also made 10 stops for the winners. Nate Reiff put in 7 goals in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

Lafayette 9 St Rita 7

Rastko Stojsin scored 5 goals to help Lafayette advance to the event's title game after a 9-7 win over St Rita. Eric Johnson registered 3 scores and Joey Qualter netted 2 scores in the losing effort.

 

Whitney Young 12 York 8

Duncan McDonald recorded 5 goals and Josh Escasa added 3 scores in the Dolphins' 12-8 win over York. Danny Stumpf poured in 7 goals in the loss for the Dukes.

 

McHenry 17 Lincoln-Way West 9

Garrett Floden scored 7 times and Kevin Braun notched 6 scores as the Warriors ended the preliminary round with a 17-9 win over LWW. Teddy Pitzen also scored 3 times in the win. Jake Carlson put in 3 goals in the loss for the Warriors.

 

Lincoln-Way West 17 Wheeling 6

Jake Carlson scored 7 goals to lead the Warriors to a 17-6 win over Wheeling in the seventh-place game of the Schaumburg Tournament. Nate Reiff led the Wildcats with 5 scores in the loss.

 

McHenry 8 York 6

Garrett Floden scored the game-winning goal in the fourth quarter to help lift the Warriors over York in the fifth-place game at Schaumburg on Saturday. Kevin Braun registered 3 goals and both Jackson Smith and Floden netted 2 goals in the win. Logan Frendreis led the Dukes with 3 scores in the losing effort.

 

St Rita 13 Whitney Young 9

Eric Johnson slotted home 6 shots and Matt Lopez contributed 5 goals as the Mustangs wrapped up third place with a 13-9 win over Whitney Young. Dan Rusca totaled 5 goals and Duncan McDonald scored 2 goals in the loss for the Dolphins.

 

Schaumburg 9 Lafayette 8 (2 OT)

Jack Pyde recorded 3 goals and both Christian Zielinski and Tyler Gustafson each netted 2 goals as the Saxons won their own invitational in sudden-death overtime, beating Lafayette 9-8 on Saturday evening. Rastko Stojsin tallied 3 scores in the loss for the visitors.

Caroline Wojtas poured in 10 goals as the Pirates earned a 15-7 victory over Elk Grove.

 

Glenbrook South 12 Hersey 4

Rachel Spector tallied 4 goals and Nicole Lopatinsky put in 3 scores as the Titans closed their own event with a 12-4 win over Hersey. Ana Hofmockel and Diana Capota each added 2 scores and Kelly Klish put in one score in the winning effort.

Meredith Lohman scored 2 goals to lead the Lady Eagles to a tournament-opening victory (7-1) over their split squad. Holly-Beth Mangrum scored the lone goal in the loss for the other Lady Eagles.

 

Meadows 13 Westinghouse 3

Sara Luedloff tallied 6 goals as the Mustangs earned a 13-3 win over Westinghouse. Alejandra Izquierdo notched 3 scores in the losing effort.

 

Jones-Payton 20 Niles West 8

Rebecca Sudworth poured in 7 goals to lead the Lady Eagles to a 20-8 victory over Niles West. Lauren Patt put in 5 scores in the loss for the Wolves.

 

Taft 12 Westinghouse 12

The Eagles and Lady Warriors finished in a 12-12 stalemate at the end of regulation as Caroline Hoffman scored 9 goals for Taft and Alejandra Izquiero registered 8 scores for Westinghouse.

 

Niles West 19 Jones-Payton "B" 2

Sara Batorowicz recorded 5 goals to help the Wolves grab their first win of the season, a 19-2 decision of Jones-Payton "B". Coral Feldman scored once in the loss for the Lady Eagles.

 

Meadows 16 Taft 4

Erin Pletch notched 7 scores for the Mustangs as they beat Taft 16-4 to advance to the title game of the event. Alex Rivera netted 3 goals in the loss for the Eagles.

 

Taft 16 Jones "B" 5

Alex Rivera recorded 6 goals to help Taft claim a fifth-place finish at the event with a 16-5 victory over Jones-Payton "B". Grace Kelly scored 3 times in the loss for the Lady Eagles.

 

Niles West 15 Westinghouse 5

Lauren Patt registered 5 goals to help lead the Wolves to a 15-5 victory over Westinghouse in the third place game of the event. Alejandra Izquierdo tallied 5 goals in the loss for the Lady Warriors.

 

Meadows 10 Jones-Payton 9

Sara Luedloff scored the eventual game-winning goal midway through the fourth quarter as the Mustangs' junior and fellow junior Erin Pletch both recorded 4 goals in a 10-9 title game win over Jones-Payton. Rebecca Sudworth tallied 5 scores and Meredith Lohman added 2 scores in the losing effort.

 

 

MAINE SOUTH TOURNAMENT

Maine South 9 STC East 4

Kamila Orzech and Kalin Bender both recorded 4 goals to lead the Hawks past STC East 9-4 and into the title game of the event to face Highland Park.

 

 

NAPERVILLE CENTRAL TOURNAMENT

Naperville Central 11 Homewood-Flossmoor 2

Emily Westlove scored 4 goals and Kaela Codo scored 2 times as the Redhawks beat H-F 11-2 to start the day. Angie Benton, Alli Hansen, Emily Rodgers, Krista Drapalik, and Jennifer Oliver each added one goal in the winning effort. Amber Barney registered both goals for the Vikings in the loss.

 

Mother McAuley 12 Mundelein 7

Julie Olivares totaled 6 goals and Claire Mueller tallied 3 scores to lead the Mighty Macs past Mundelein 12-7. Fran Bauer netted 2 goals, Molly O'Connell added one score, and Devin Flaherty blocked 11 shots for McAuley. Emily Garcia poured in 6 goals, Lauren Blake scored once, and Emily Dodd made 10 saves in the loss for the Mustangs.

Diana Fernandez scored 4 goals and Tara White notched 3 scores in the Wolfpack's 13-1 triumph over the Vikings. Alexis Anderson scored the lone goal for H-F while Rebecca Tanner made 10 saves.

 

Fremd 11 Mundelein 3

Tami Carlson scored 4 times, Emma Hoffman netted 2 goals, and Emma Jeronimus made 10 saves in the Vikings' 11-3 win over Mundelein. Elisabeth Gomez, Emily Garcia, and Lauren Blake each scored once in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Mundelein 5 Homewood-Flossmoor 4

Emily Garcia tallied 4 goals, Lauren Blake chipped in with one score, and Emily Dodd blocked 10 shots as the Mustangs closed out the weekend with a 5-4 win over the Vikings in the fifth-place game of the event. Amber Barney scored all 4 goals for H-F while Rebecca Tanner stopped 11 shots in the one-goal loss.

 

Naperville Central 11 Fremd 2

Kaela Codo scored 5 goals and both Emily Rodgers and Emily Westlove scored 2 times as the Redhawks claimed third place at their own event with an 11-2 win over Fremd. Abbey Rosenstiel and Krista Drapalik each added one score and Faith Vandercar blocked 9 shots in the Central victory. Nicole Degla and Tami Carlson each notched one score in the loss for Fremd.

 

St Ignatius 13 Mother McAuley 1

Stephania Lopez netted 5 goals and Karen Juarez tallied 3 scores as the Wolfpack beat Mother McAuley 13-1 to win the Naperville Central Tournament. Tara White added 2 goals while the trio of Brianna Gist, Diana Fernandez, and Clara Lindland each scored once in the winning effort. Molly O'Connell scored the lone goal for the Mighty Macs in the losing effort.

 

 

NAPERVILLE NORTH TOURNAMENT

Naperville North 13 Fenwick 6

Katie Horn recorded 7 goals and Jilian Eiken netted 3 scores as the Huskies knocked off the top-ranked Friars 13-6 on Saturday morning. Caitlin Holzer added 2 goals and Taylor Stoner added one score as the victors built a 7-2 lead by halftime en route to the win. Molly McGuire recorded 3 goals, Catie Wallace put in 2 scores, and Kelly Frumkin scored once in the loss for Fenwick. Complete report coming soon.

The Friars bounced back from an earlier loss to get past Neuqua Valley 10-6 after Molly McGuire recorded 4 goals and Catie Wallace notched 3 scores. Eryn Kulik, Jillian Wickham, and Shannon Forst each tallied one goal in the win for Fenwick. Gabby Koopmann and Morgan Miller both scored 3 times and Issi French made 15 saves in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

Naperville North 10 Neuqua Valley 4

Jilian Eiken tallied 4 scores while Caitlin Holzer, Katie Horn, and Olivia Eiken each netted 2 scores as North earned a 10-4 victory over Neuqua Valley. Morgan Miller scored 4 goals and Issi French made 14 stops in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

 

R-B TOURNAMENT

Oak Park 17 R-B 5

Jilly Cronin notched 5 goals and Maddie Wolfe added 3 scores in the Huskies' 17-5 win over the hosts. Mia Andreoli also scored 2 goals and Jordin Hale chipped in with 8 saves and 3 assists for OPRF.

 

Oak Park 21 DLS 1

Jilly Cronin recorded 5 goals, Kathleen Coogan put in 4 scores, and Mia Andreoli tallied 3 scores as OPRF beat Oak Park 21-1.

 

Oak Park 17 Whitney Young 4

Mia Andreoli totaled 4 scores and both Grace Martin and Maddie Wolfe netted 3 scores to help Oak Park beat Whitney Young 17-4. Jilly Cronin added 2 scores and Jordin Hale dished out 3 assists and allowed just 4 goals to the Dolphins' offense.

 

 

STC NORTH TOURNAMENT

STC North 10 Hoffman 0

Katie Difiglio scored 5 goals and both Katie Quinn and Katie Steele netted 2 score as the hosts started the event with a 10-0 victory over Hoffman. Claire Rich earned the shutout win in front of a solid defensive effort from the North Stars.

 

Lake Forest 9 STC North 8

The Scouts outlasted the hosts 9-8 to advance to the event's title game on Saturday afternoon. Abby Warren poured in 7 goals and both Clare Wieland and Grace Donahue each scored once in the win for Lake Forest. Katie Difiglio totaled 3 goals and 7 steals while Katie Quinn added 2 goals in the losing effort. Abby Ponte, Kate Gibson, and Katie Steele each added one goal and Claire Rich made 5 saves in the loss.

 

Lake Forest 11 Hoffman 2

Clare Wieland recorded 3 goals and the trio of Abby Warren, Elise Vondra, and Madeleine Pompe each put in 2 goals in the Scouts' 11-2 win over Hoffman.

 

STC North 8 Buffalo Grove 6

Abby Ponte, Katie Difiglio, and Sarah Gibson all registered 2 goals and Claire Rich made 9 saves as the North Stars beat Buffalo Grove to claim third place at their own event on Saturday. Brittany Veto led the defense with 5 steals (plus one goal) while Katie Quinn totaled one goal and 4 assists.

 

Lake Forest 9 Andrew 2

Abby Warren netted 4 goals and Clare Wieland added 3 scores as Lake Forest beat Andrew 9-2 to win the STC North Tournament.
