Knights Earn Redemption In Winning LWE Tournament
Lincoln-Way Central earned a bit of redemption by beating Lincoln-Way North and the rest of the teams in the LWE Tournament over the weekend. The Knights lost to the Phoenix in the opening round of this same event last season, but Danijela Jackovich was present this time around, and her dominant, 6-goal effort helped ensure LWC would walk away with a trophy from this annual event. Jackovich totaled 19 goals in the three-game set, which also included wins over Lockport and R-B. She was complimented by Liz Klock and Kristi Howe, who combined to score 13 goals during the festivities. The hosts ended up winning the third-place game by beating R-B, Lockport rolled to a 12-5 win over Andrew in the fifth-place contest, and Lincoln-Way West earned their first win of the weekend by beating Richards for seventh place.

Danijela Jackovich scored 6 goals and drew 5 ejections to lead the Knights to a 6-4 victory over LWN to win the Lincoln-Way East Tournament on Saturday afternoon. Caroline Foglton also made 11 saves and kept the Phoenix offense in check to help Central earn the win.
