WEDNESDAY'S GAME PREVIEWS

BOYS

#4 Brother Rice at #12 Loyola

The Crusaders are just one game away from clinching the Catholic League regular season title after Monday's win over Fenwick, but they'll have to get past Loyola in Wilmette on Wednesday night in order to claim perfection in the conference. The Ramblers (7-2) have just one conference loss and are coming off a narrow 10-9 win over St Patrick.

KEEP AN EYE ON:

#7 Latin at #19 Stagg

The Romans are off to a 6-1 start and will look to continue racking up the wins against the surprising Chargers. Stagg fell to Curie last night, but have reeled off some major wins early in the season and will be looking to pull the home upset over a Top 10 team.

St Rita at #6 St Ignatius

The Wolfpack have been impressive in the first two weeks of the season and are seeking their best finish in the Catholic League; they'll have to fend of the challenge of St Rita at home on Wednesday.

#23 Glenbrook North at Hinsdale Central

The Spartans moved into the Top 25 this week after wins over Evanston and GBS, but they'll need to avoid a letdown against the Red Devils, who won their own tournament last weekend.

GIRLS

MATCH OF THE DAY

#7 Loyola at #4 Mother McAuley

The Ramblers and Macs face another tough early season challenge in this matchup between Catholic League powers. Both teams are coming off Tuesday night wins, as Loyola topped Oak Park 10-5 and McAuley defeated Neuqua Valley 8-6.

KEEP AN EYE ON:

#1 St Ignatius at #14 Mundelein

The top-ranked Wolfpack (8-0) face a tough test when they make the journey to Mundelein to take on the talented Mustangs (4-1).

#15 Evanston at York

The Wildkits will look to bounce back after a crushing loss to Young on Tuesday, while the Dukes will try to get things back together after finishing 0-3 at the Naperville Central Tournament over the weekend.

Stagg at #18 Waubonsie Valley

The Warriors fell to #2 Naperville Central last night, but they have been impressive so far after starting 6-2 this season. They will need to be ready for a challenge from the visiting Chargers on Wednesday.
