Lockport 9 Stagg 7

Eric Krawczyk recorded 4 goals, Ian Greenway totaled 2 goals and 4 assists, and Matt Zalesko scored 2 goals and dished out 3 assists in the Porters' 9-7 victory over Stagg. Gio Onesto also scored once in the win for Lockport.

Lincoln-Way North 13 Lincoln-Way West 9

The Phoenix improved to 14-0 in 2016 after beating LWW 13-9 in a SWSC contest. Jake Carlson led all scorers with 8 goals for the Warriors in the losing effort.

 

McHenry 9 Buffalo Grove 6

Jackson Smith, Kevin Braun and Mike Matusek each scored 2 times to help lift the Warriors over Buffalo Grove 9-6 at the back end of a trio of games at BG. Both teams lost earlier in the night to Mundelein.

 

 

LYONS TOURNAMENT

Lyons 14 York 7

Victor Perez registered 4 goals and Sam Szczepaniak scored 3 times as the Lions opened up their own event by beating York 14-7 on Friday evening. George Lundgren and Ryan Hammond both added 2 goals while the trio of Anthony Berley, Ben Ezsias and Michael Zahorik each chipped in with one score for the hosts. Tim Evely recorded 3 goals, Alex Marlott scored 2 times and both Danny Stumpf and Parker Hicks scored once for the Dukes.

 

Loyola 13 Young 11

Matt Merucci scored 5 times, Michael Considine tallied 4 scores and Walter Haracz made 10 saves in the Ramblers' 13-11 victory over Whitney Young. Kevin Manna added 2 scores while Larkin Flanagan and Quinn Carr each scored once in the win. Duncan McDonald totaled 4 scores in the loss for the Dolphins.

 

St Ignatius 12 Oak Park 7

Shane Hughes notched 7 scores and Andreas Christy scored 2 times in the Wolfpack's 12-7 triumph over Oak Park. Casey Nurnberger, Jack Dunn and Theo Mossman each scored once and Sam Enger made 9 saves in the victory. Lawrence Cozzi netted 4 scores, Leo Manola scored 2 times and Matt Mitrovich put in one score in the loss for the Huskies.

 

 

NILES WEST TOURNAMENT

Fremd 10 Evanston 3

Robert DePau totaled 5 goals and Nate Jordan tallied 2 scores in the Vikings' 10-3 victory over Evanston. Derek Warnstedt, Danny Konishi and Mike Kochanski each added one score in the win for Fremd.

 

STC East 13 Wheeling 5

Ethan Braham recorded 6 goals and both Andrew Roberge and Jack Sweeney scored 2 times to help the Saints beat Wheeling 13-5. Charlie Young, Johnny Tarpey and Tanner Schisler each added one score for the victors.

 

Evanston 12 Waubonsie Valley 7

Thomas Fies registered 8 goals and Jacob Finn-Samuels scored 3 times as the Wildkits earned a 12-7 win over Waubonsie Valley. Wyatt Tiscareno scored 3 goals and Jon McWhirter notched 2 scores in the loss for the Warriors.

Lockport 15 Stagg 10

Kennedy Ruther totaled 7 goals to lead the Porters' offense while Mikaela Milligan made 7 steals to lead the defense as Lockport defeated Stagg 15-10.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Fremd 18 Glenbrook North 0

Emma Jeronimus (15 saves) and the Vikings' defense did not allow a goal as Fremd blanked GBN 18-0 on Friday. Sarah Coombes celebrated her birthday by leading the offense with 5 goals, Emily Kini scored 4 times and Jenessa Islas-Parker chipped in with 3 scores for the winners. Becca Rutkowski and Karolina Urban each added 2 goals while Leah Hillesheim and Paulina Pappas rounded out the Fremd scoring with one goal apiece in the victory.

 

Hoffman 18 Hinsdale South 8

Ann Cho and Jenny Fermaintt each scored 7 goals to lead the Hawks past Hinsdale South 18-8. Magdiel Miranda-Lopez added 2 scores while both Casey Rawlings and Maggie Rommel each tallied one score for the winners. Allee Laford, Emily Adams and Jessica Ostrowska each scored 2 times while Ava Stukas and Briana Vaselik both scored once in the losing effort.

 

Lincoln-Way East 9 Sandburg 8

Nicole McCabe registered 4 scores, Abby Olivieri netted 3 scores and Caroline Heathcock put in 2 goals as the Griffins edged Sandburg 9-8. Claire Connors also stopped 7 shots in the victory. Mara O'Connor put in 3 scores, the trio of Bella Wrobel, Clare Lawlor and Vaia Makris each registered one score and Morgan Bartelment made 12 saves in the loss for the Eagles.
