Curie 11 Whitney Young 7

Oscar Hernandez scored 3 goals as the Condors knocked off Whitney Young 11-7 to win the CPS title on Friday. Arturo Magana notched 6 scores in the loss for the Dolphins.

 

 

CSL TOURNAMENT

New Trier 15 Maine East 10

Ervin Mendoza and Henry Yavitt both scored a hat-trick to help lift the Trevians over Maine East 15-10. Josh Espinoza recorded 5 goals in the loss for the Blue Demons.

 

Glenbrook South 13 Maine South 6

Brendan Chang recorded 5 goals to help lead the Titans past Maine South 13-6. Sean Gardiner tallied 3 scores in the loss for the Hawks.

 

Niles West 14 Glenbrook North 2

Albijon Purelko scored 4 goals to lead the Wolves past GBN 14-2.

 

Evanston 12 Maine West 4

Jacob Finn-Samuels recorded 4 goals as the Wildkits defeated Maine West 12-4.

 

 

MCAC TOURNAMENT

St Patrick 8 Brother Rice 7

Michael Taylor registered 3 goals to held the Shamrocks edge Brother Rice 8-7 on Friday night.

 

 

WSC TOURNAMENT

Oak Park 12 Hinsdale South 11

Alex Lavery scored 5 goals and Thomas Wolfe notched 4 scores as the Huskies outlasted Hinsdale South 12-11 on Friday. James Kiwiet scored 6 goals in the losing effort.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Hersey 11 Lake Forest 7

Brian Prior and Jack Casey each scored 3 goals to help lead the Huskies to an 11-7 victory over Lake Forest. Kevin Donahue recorded 2 goals in the loss for the Scouts.

 

LWE 19 LWC 11

Tom Trojniar recorded 5 goals, Andrew Brozovic and Jason Parkinson each scored 4 times and Shawn Shields allowed just 2 goals as the Griffins beat Central 19-11. Jake Abercrombie, Jon Limp and Ryan Murphy each tallied 2 scores in the winning effort.

 


 

 

 

CPS TOURNAMENT

Whitney Young 7 Northside 6

Elizabeth Shumaker connected on the game-winning goal in the final two minutes of the Dolphins' 7-6 win over Northside in the third-place game of the CPS Tournament. Beth Zelenka and Joanne Phan each put in 2 goals in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Lane 5 Jones-Payton 4

Almina Sabinovic scored the game-winner in the final period to send the Indians past Jones-Payton 5-4 to win the CPS title on Friday night. Brianna Breason scored 2 goals in the second half to tie the score just before Sabinovic provided the final tally. Haley Gibbs scored 2 times in the loss for the Lady Eagles.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Conant 13 Libertyville 5

Paulina Chowaniec poured in 6 goals, Olivia Olszewski scored 3 times and Cam Rosas stopped 12 shots in the Cougars' 13-5 victory over Libertyville. Jess Lanty scored 3 goals and Kathryn Dane made 7 saves in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

Hersey 7 Lake Forest 5

Karolina Niemiec scored 3 goals, Katie Lindgren put in 2 scores and Emily VanGrinsven made 11 saves as the Huskies earned a 7-5 victory over Lake Forest. Grace Donahue scored 4 times in the losing effort.
