TOURNAMENT RECAP

 

Preview
The girls' version of the Stevenson Tournament features four top 25 teams that have their sights set  on fine tuning things for the postseason. Lincoln-Way Central, Naperville Central, and Neuqua Valley join the host Patriots for a six-game event that alternates games with the boys' teams in Lincolnshire on Saturday.

Saturday's Game Recaps

Stevenson 10 Lincoln-Way Central 1

Allison Travetto recorded 5 goals and Melissa Gartenberg tallied 3 scores as the Patriots earned a 10-1 victory over LWC. Bridget Wynne and Erin Kempers each scored once in the win for the hosts. Becky Callen also made 10 saves in the winning effort for Stevenson. Liz Klock scored the lone goal and Sabrina Miglorini made 13 saves in the loss.

 

Lincoln-Way Central 4 Neuqua Valley 2

Liz Klock scored 2 goals, both Cailey Davern and Delaney Shepard scored once, and Sabrina Miglorini made 9 saves as the Knights used a strong defensive effort to beat Neuqua Valley 4-2. Morgan Miller and Sammi Jaquez each scored once and Issi French made 9 stops in the losing effort.

 

Naperville Central 6 Lincoln-Way Central 4

Beth Ryan and Kaela Codo each registered 2 goals and both Alli Hansen and Kristina Altuve scored once as the Redhawks outscored the Knights 3-1 in the final period to earn a 6-4 victory over LWC. Delaney Shepard scored 2 goals and both Kristi Howe and Liz Klock scored once in the loss for the Knights.

 

Stevenson 8 Naperville Central 6

Melissa Gartenberg scored 3 goals and Ashley Oliver scored 2 times as Stevenson held off Naperville Central 8-6 on Saturday. Allison Travetto, Annika Hotchkiss, and Autumn Hoang each added one score in the winning effort. Jessica Fox tallied 3 scores in the loss for the Redhawks.

 

Naperville Central 9 Neuqua Valley 5

The Redhawks bounced back from their previous loss by beating Neuqua Valley 9-5 on Saturday. Stats for Central coming soon. Kaitlyn Gorski and Morgan Miller both scored 2 goals and Issi French made 11 saves in the loss. Wyli Erlichman also scored once in the losing effort.

 

Stevenson 15 Neuqua Valley 4

Melissa Gartenberg recorded 5 goals and Allison Travetto totaled 4 scores as Stevenson downed Neuqua Valley 15-4 on Saturday. Autumn Hoang and Jordan Landau each netted 2 goals and Becky Callen made 11 stops in the win for the hosts. Morgan Miller scored all 4 goals for the Wildcats and Amy Blencowe stopped 7 shots in the loss.
