Jess Lanty scored 6 goals and Annie Barnett added 5 scores in the Wildcats' 20-2 win over Deerfield.

Ashley Helminski recorded 6 goals and 6 steals and Megan Woell made 12 saves and earned a shutout as the Pirates beat Warren 11-0. Ashley Theis also scored 2 goals for the victors, who advance to the next round to take on Mundelein on Wednesday.

 

(8) Wheeling 6 (9) Vernon Hills 4

Thalia Khan registered 3 scores and Elizabeth Wargo made 16 saves in the Wildcats' 6-4 win over VH.

 

Wednesday, May 10

Quarterfinals

(1) Stevenson 18 (8) Wheeling 2

Claire Haas tallied 5 scores, Eileen Hoang scored 4 goals and Anna Mossakowski and Brigitte Lefebvre each made 6 saves in the Patriots' 18-2 win over Wheeling. Shreya Sreedhar also scored 2 goals in the win. Estephania Diaz and Thalia Khan both scored once and Elizabeth Wargo made 7 saves in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

(5) Buffalo Grove 8 (4) Highland Park 2

 

(2) Mundelein 14 (7) Palatine 4

Abbie Lukas recorded 5 goals and Ella Krauss added 3 scores in the Mustangs' 14-4 victory over Palatine.

 

(3) Lake Forest 8 (6) Libertyville 5

The Scouts advanced to the semifinal round by beating Libertyville 8-5. Jess Lanty scored 4 goals and Kathryn Dane totaled 6 saves and 3 steals in the loss for the Wildcats.

 

Friday, May 12

Semifinals

(1) Stevenson 21 (5) Buffalo Grove 3

Claire Haas scored 6 goals and Fiona Gaffney tallied 3 scores as the Patriots beat BG 21-3.

 

(2) Mundelein 10 (3) Lake Forest 5

Abbie Lukas and Ella Krauss scored 4 goals apiece and Carolyn Westgate dished out 4 assists as the Mustangs beat Lake Forest 10-5. Grace Donahue scored 3 goals in the losing effort.

Finals

(1) Stevenson 16 (2) Mundelein 2

The Patriots pulled away from the Mustangs late in the first half to earn a 16-2 victory to qualify for the state tournament. Claire Haas totaled 7 scores and Anna Mossakowski made 11 blocks for the winners. Eileen Hoang, Lauren Maloney and Kalista Tapas each tallied 2 scores while Amelia Eastman, Ashley Carollo and Julia Nicholson all scored once for Stevenson. Abbie Lukas notched 2 scores and Hannah Stanley blocked 11 shots in the losing effort.
