Play-In Games

(8) Maine East 15 (9) Maine West 8

Mike Babula netted 6 goals and Mateo Kozomara scored 3 times as the Blue Demons erased an early deficit to earn a 15-8 win over Maine West. James Caldwell and Krystof Maniewski each tallied 2 goals and both Ricky Pokorski and Tyler Vonderheide scored once in the winning effort.

Wednesday, May 14

Quarterfinals

(1) Loyola 12 (8) Maine East 3

Cameron Shewchuck scored 4 times and Jack Schermerhorn notched 2 scores to help lift the Ramblers over Maine East. Loyola raced out to an 8-1 halftime lead en route to the victory. Mike Babula recorded 2 goals and Mateo Kozomara tacked on one score in the loss for the Blue Demons.

(4) New Trier 14 (5) GBN 7

Alex Grant totaled 4 goals to help the Trevians knock off GBN 14-7. John Roberts put in 3 goals in the loss for the Spartans.

(2) GBS 16 (7) Evanston 8

Brant Boczek, Jake Nelson, and Seamus Heneghan all scored 4 goals in the Titans' 16-8 triumph over Evanston. Liam O'Connor led the Wildkits with 4 goals in the losing effort.

(3) Niles West 15 (6) Maine South 11

Max Yusim notched 6 scores and Steven Renko totaled 5 goals, 4 assists, and 6 steals as Niles West got past Maine South 15-11 on Wednesday evening. Kyle Patt also contributed 4 goals to the winning cause for the Wolves.

Friday, May 16

Semifinals

(1) Loyola 13 (4) New Trier 4

Cameron Shewchuck recorded 4 goals and Matt Kearney netted 3 scores as Loyola jumped out to a 10-2 halftime lead before beating New Trier 13-4. Jack Nickele added 2 goals, Chris Jovanovic put in one goal, and Trevor Prince blocked 13 shots and a penalty attempt in the Ramblers' win. Alex Grant led New Trier with 3 scores in the loss.

(3) Niles West 11 (2) GBS 8

Max Yusim and Steven Renko both recorded 3 goals and Matt Lefler totaled 9 saves and 6 steals to help the Wolves earn an 11-8 win over GBS. Kyle Patt also scored 2 times in the win for West. Brant Boczek and Jake Nelson combined to score 3 goals in the loss for the Titans.

Saturday, May 17

Finals

(1) Loyola 11 (3) Niles West 5

The Ramblers built a 4-0 halftime lead and then pulled away from Niles West in the second half after the Wolves got to within two (5-3) in the third quarter to advance to the state tournament with an 11-5 win. Matt Kearney scored 4 times, Trevor Prince made 14 saves, and Cameron Shewchuck, Jack Nickele, and Jack Schermerhorn all scored 2 times in the victory. Kyle Patt and Steven Renko both scored 2 goals and Matt Lefler totaled 13 saves, 6 steals, and blocked two penalty shots in the losing effort.
