Quarterfinals

The defending champions accepted the gift of a forfeit by Hubbard and were technically the first team to advance to the sectional semifinals on Wednesday.

(5) Riverside-Brookfield 11 (4) Morton 6

Hannah Flynn totaled 6 goals to lead the Bulldogs past Morton 11-6 in the sectional quarterfinal round. Stephanie Torres notched 4 scores in the loss for the Mustangs.

(2) Oak Park 16 (7) Westinghouse 2

Mia Andreoli scored 3 goals to lead a balanced offensive attack as the Huskies beat Westinghouse 16-2. Alejandra Izquierdo registered both goals in the losing effort.

(3) York 11 (6) Whitney Young 5

Friday, May 15

Semifinals

(1) Fenwick 21 (5) Riverside-Brookfield 6

(2) Oak Park 11 (3) York 4

Genevieve Curry scored 6 goals and drew 3 ejections, Jilly Cronin added 3 scores and Jordin Hale made 11 saves and totaled 3 assists in the Huskies' 11-4 win over York. Maddie Wolfe and Mia Andreoli each put in one score as well for the winners.

Finals

(1) Fenwick 6 (2) Oak Park 5

Catie Wallace scored the game-winning goal early in the fourth quarter and totaled 4 scores as Fenwick fended off Oak Park 6-5 to return to the state tournament. Kelly Frumkin and Shannon Forst each tallied one score as well for the defending champions. Genevieve Curry scored 3 goals, Jilly Cronin netted 2 goals and Jordin Hale stopped 14 shots in the loss for the Huskies.
