2018 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 7 & 8.

 

The boys' quarterfinal action starts on May 9, followed by the girls' quarterfinal games on May 10. The sectional semifinals are played on May 11, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 12.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

Wednesday, May 10

Quarterfinals

(1) Stevenson 19 (8) Wheeling 1

Lauren Maloney scored 3 goals and 12 other Patriots scored once in a 19-1 win over Deerfield.

 

(5) Libertyville 10 (4) Lake Forest 2

Anna Heard scored 4 goals and both Hayden Marth and Cate McCarty scored 3 goals in the Wildcats' 10-2 win over Lake Forest. Katie DeAcetis blocked 12 shots as well for the victors.

 

(2) Mundelein 19 (7) Warren 1

Abbie Lukas scored 7 goals to lead the Mustangs past Warren 19-1.

 

(3) Buffalo Grove 7 (6) Palatine 1

 

Friday, May 11

Semifinals

(1) Stevenson 16 (5) Libertyville 0

Amelia Eastman, Claire Haas and Eleanor Michaud each scored 3 goals while Anna Mossakowski and Val Zlotnikova paired up to earn a shutout in the Patriots' 16-0 victory over Libertyville.

 

(2) Mundelein 9 (3) Buffalo Grove 0

Abbie Lukas scored 3 goals, Ella Krauss scored 2 goals and Hannah Stanley earned a shutout as the Mustangs beat BG 9-0.

Saturday, May 12

Finals

(1) Stevenson 21 (2) Mundelein 12

Lauren Maloney totaled 6 scores, Claire Haas scored 4 times and Eleanor Michaud tallied 3 scores to help the Patriots earn a 21-12 win over Mundelein. Kalista Tapas and Shreya Sreedhar both added 2 scores while Anna Mossakowski and Val Zlotnikova combined to make 9 saves for the winners. Abbie Lukas and Ella Krauss both recorded 4 goals and Hannah Stanley stopped 6 shots in the loss for the Mustangs.
