2018 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 7 & 8.

 

The boys' quarterfinal action starts on May 9, followed by the girls' quarterfinal games on May 10. The sectional semifinals are played on May 11, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 12.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

Quarterfinals

(1) Naperville Central 17 (8) Waubonsie Valley 1

 

(4) Naperville North 10 (5) Metea Valley 8

Riley Thompson totaled 4 goals and both Chase McClure and Jack Wallace notched 2 scores to help lead the Huskies past Metea Valley 10-8. Brady Erdman and Jonathan DuVal each scored 2 goals in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

(2) Lockport 16 (7) Hinsdale Central 6

Jacob Sweis, Matt Zalesko and Tyler Thompson each scored 3 goals and Connor Hecker made 10 saves in the Porters' 16-6 win over Hinsdale Central.

 

(3) Neuqua Valley 12 (6) STC North 7

 

Friday, May 11

Semifinals

(1) Naperville Central 19 (4) Naperville North 5

 

(2) Lockport 12 (3) Neuqua Valley 11

Jacob Sweis scored 4 goals and Matt Zalesko scored 3 times as the Porters scored 6 goals in the final period to earn a 12-11 comeback win over Neuqua Valley.

Finals

(1) Naperville Central 13 (2) Lockport 4

Cam Dougherty recorded 3 goals, the trio of Bender Russo, Christian Fleming and Brad Sanford scored 2 goals each and Jonah Klein-Collins made 8 saves in the Redhawks' 13-4 victory over Lockport.
