2018 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 7 & 8.

 

The boys' quarterfinal action starts on May 9, followed by the girls' quarterfinal games on May 10. The sectional semifinals are played on May 11, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 12.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

Monday, May 8

Play-In Games

(7) Schaumburg 8 (10) Hoffman 5

 

(9) St Viator 13 (8) Meadows 7

 

Wednesday, May 10

Quarterfinals

(1) Conant 10 (9) St Viator 5

Olivia Olszewski recorded 5 goals, Nia Tsoulos totaled 2 scores and drew 6 ejections and Lauren Day made 11 saves in the Cougars' 10-5 triumph over St Viator. Zoe Green scored 2 times in the losing effort.

 

(5) Fremd 8 (4) Prospect 7

Lauren Streitmatter scored the game-winning goal in the final two minutes of regulation to send the Vikings past Prospect 8-7 on Thursday.

 

(2) Hersey 9 (7) Schaumburg 4

Annie Lindgren scored 4 goals, Katie Lindgren notched 3 scores and Claire Lutz made 14 saves as the Huskies earned a 9-4 win over Schaumburg.

 

(3) Barrington 6 (6) Elk Grove 5

The Fillies scored the lone goal in the final period to edge Elk Grove 6-5 to advance to the semifinals. Alyssa Bonilla scored 2 goals and Melena Herrera made 15 saves in the loss for the Grenadiers.

 

Friday, May 11

Semifinals

(1) Conant 10 (5) Fremd 7

Amy Rodriguez and Olivia Olszewski each recorded 3 scores in the Cougars' 10-7 win over Fremd. Lauren Streitmatter scored 3 goals while Meagan Helsdingen added 2 scores in the losing effort.

 

(2) Hersey 8 (3) Barrington 5

Katie Lindgren tallied 5 scores, Madison Burkhalter notched 2 scores and Claire Lutz made 8 saves as the Huskies defeated Barrington 8-5.

Olivia Olszewski scored 5 goals and Nia Tsoulos added 3 scores in the Cougars' 9-7 win over Hersey. Lauren Day also stopped 15 shots for the winners. Katie Lindgren netted 3 scores in the loss for the Huskies.
