TOURNAMENT RECAP (March 9)

 

Conant Edges Lane To Win Tournament
The Cougars spoiled the fun for their guests by going 3-0 on Saturday to win their own event. Carmen Rosas totaled 16 goals during the three-game set, which Conant finished up by edging Lane 9-7 in the virtual title game. They also earned wins over Lake Forest and STC East earlier in the day, with Angie Skittone contributing 7 scores and the goaltending duo of Jenn Soukup and Maddy Demeret combining to stop 20 shots in the three games. Carmen Savolainen poured in 13 goals to lead Lane to a second-place finish, while Lexy Koss totaled 6 goals for STC East as they beat Lake Forest to finish in third place.


Saturday's Game Recaps

Conant 10 STC East 2

Carmen Rosas tallied 5 goals and Angie Skittone added 2 scores in Conant's 10-2 win over STC East. Lexy Kos recorded both goals in the loss for the Saints.

 

Lane 12 Lake Forest 2

Carmen Savolainen totaled 7 goals in Lane's 12-2 triumph over Lake Forest. Abigail Warren and Maia Brearton each scored once in the loss for the Scouts.

 

Conant 9 Lake Forest 5

Carmen Rosas recorded 4 goals and Angie Skittone notched 3 scores in Conant's 9-5 victory over Lake Forest. Jenn Soukup and Maddy Demaret combined to block 10 shots in the win for the Cougars. Abigail Warren scored 3 goals and Grace Demet added 2 tallies in the loss for the Scouts.

 

Lane 11 STC East 4

Ally Cortez notched 4 scores to help lead the Indians past STC East 11-4 on Saturday. Lexy Kos led the Saints with 2 goals in the losing effort.

 

STC East 11 Lake Forest 3

Aimee Eisenstein, Kaitlyn Johnson, Lexy Koss, and Maya Heath each scored 2 goals in the Saints' 11-3 victory over Lake Forest. Maggie Mass tallied 2 scores and Abigail Warren added one goal in the loss for the Scouts.

 

Conant 9 Lane 7

Carmen Rosas tallied 7 goals and Angie Skittone scored 2 times as Conant won their own tournament by beating Lane 9-7 in the day's final game. The Cougars' duo also combined to record 6 steals in the win. Carmen Savolainen scored 5 times and Ally Cortez put in 2 goals in the loss for the Indians.
