The Wolfpack jumped back into the title picture with a strong showing at the Fenwick Tournament but will have their hands full with a red-hot Loyola team that has won six games in a row and has the benefit of playing in their home pool.

MATCH OF THE DAY

St Ignatius 13 Loyola 12 (5 OT)

Shane Hughes scored twice in the last minute of regulation to send the game with Loyola to overtime tied at 10-10, then scored the deciding goal in the fifth overtime to earn a 13-12 win over the Ramblers. The hosts took a 12-11 lead into the second session of normal overtime, but the Wolfpack tied the game at 12-12 with 0:30 left. The teams then played three straight "sudden death" periods without a goal before St Ignatius claimed the win in the fourth sudden death overtime period.

 

Hughes totaled 11 goals and Gunnar Glaab added 2 scores in the win for SICP. Andrew Hodur scored 5 times and Ragen Murphy notched 3 scores in the loss for the hosts.

Glenbrook South 16 Highland Park 7

Peter Dales notched 6 goals and both Paul Salay and Tommy Hagerty scored 3 times in the Titans' 16-7 win over the Giants. Danny Hoffman scored 6 times in the loss for HP.

 

Maine West 16 Jones-Payton 6

Brendan Atwood totaled 7 goals to lead the Warriors to a 16-6 road victory over Jones-Payton. Jared Williams led the Eagles with 4 goals in the losing effort.

 

Morgan Park 27 Simeon 16

Christian Cooper totaled 13 goals and James Harris added 6 scores as the Mustangs beat Simeon 27-16.

 

New Trier 12 Lake Forest 7

Levi Kirby tallied 4 scores and Nick Kish netted 3 goals as the Trevians JV squad went to Lake Forest to earn a 12-7 victory over the Scouts.

 

Prosser 15 Taft 11

Ivan Delgado registered 11 goals and Hector Coz netted 3 scores in the Falcons' 15-11 victory over Taft. Anthony Ross and Trevor Taylor each tallied 4 scores in the losing effort for the Eagles.

 

Stagg 15 Andrew 9

The Chargers improved to 6-0 and dealt Andrew their first loss after beating the visiting T-Bolts 15-9 on Monday. Brett Hofer scored 5 goals and drew 7 ejections in the loss for Andrew.

 

Stevenson 18 McHenry 2

Dan Maleski recorded 5 goals and both Andrew Shashin and Cris Tomasetti scored 4 times to help lead the Patriots past McHenry 18-2. Collin Kapecki and Liam Holzer each netted 2 goals and Rahul Arun put in one score for the victors.

 

St Patrick 7 Fenwick 5

Jason Schuler and Joseph Gibson each scored 3 goals and Tim Noble made 17 saves as the Shamrocks upset Fenwick 7-5 on Monday. Dan Walsh added one goal in the home victory for Pats. Jack Mahoney and Ryan Masi each scored 2 goals, Andrew Bertschy added one score, and Will Skowron made 7 saves in the loss for the Friars.

 

St Viator 11 Brother Rice 9

Keegan Finn recorded 6 goals and Frank Skorski made 9 saves in the Lions' 11-9 win over Brother Rice. Alec Resendez also scored once in the win for the hosts.

 

York 11 Morton 10 (2 OT)

Alex Marlott drilled the game-winning goal in overtime to send the Dukes past Morton 11-10 on Monday. Logan Frendreis tallied 4 scores to help the Dukes outlast the Mustangs.

St Ignatius 14 Loyola 2

Diana Fernandez and Stephania Lopez combined to score 8 goals to help the Wolfpack claim a 14-2 win over Loyola. Jenny Stelnicki and the SICP defense also produced another stellar outing by allowing just two goals to the visiting Ramblers.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Bremen 10 Lincoln-Way North 9

The Red Jaguars claimed a 10-9 road victory over the Phoenix in a nonconference affair in Frankfort on Monday. North used a 4-0 run in the second half to tie the game at 8-8 before the Red Jaguars held them off in the end. Jillian Schultz recorded 4 goals and Brittany Lira notched 3 scores in the win for Bremen. Elizabeth Minnich led the defense with 9 steals while goaltender Kaitlyn Nowicki stopped 7 shots and dished out 3 assists. Cassidy Degraff returned to the lineup to total 6 goals and 5 steals, while the trio of Emily Cheshire, Jess Larson, and Julia Porco each contributed one score in the losing effort.

 

Fenwick 12 Resurrection 3

Kelsey Sullivan netted 3 goals and Anna Sullivan blocked 12 shots as Fenwick upended Resurrection 12-3 on Monday in Catholic League action. Arianna Dakuras, Claire Durkin, and Lauren Poland each added 2 scores in the win for the Friars.

 

Glenbrook South 9 Highland Park 8

Diana Capota scored the eventual game-winning goal to help the Titans claim a 9-8 victory over HP. Rachel Spector totaled 4 goals, Maddie McMillan added 2 scores while Kelly Klish and Nicole Lopatinsky each added one score in the winning effort. Natalie Gelberg totaled 4 goals in the loss for the Giants.

 

Hinsdale Central 15 Lockport 4

Nina Relias poured in 9 goals to lead Hinsdale Central past Lockport 15-4 on Monday night.

 

Maine West 12 Jones-Payton 11

Kristen Burger scored 4 goals and Annie Picchiotti netted 3 goals as the Warriors edged the Lady Eagles 12-11. Rebecca Sudworth tallied 5 goals and Marlee Nork put in 2 scores in the loss for the hosts.

 

Taft 8 Prosser 3

Alex Rivera scored 3 goals and Caroline Hoffman put in 2 scores to lead Taft past Prosser 8-3. Silvia Salay recorded 2 goals in the loss for the Lady Falcons.

 

York 8 Morton 2

Grace Achepohl scored 5 goals, Carli York netted 2 scores, and Isabel Gil scored once as the Dukes beat Morton 8-2. Nadia Pantaleon and Stephanie Torres each scored once in the loss for the Mustangs.
