TOURNAMENT REPORT

 

Preview
The Shamrocks' tournament features a dynamic group of competitive teams with Bremen, Brother Rice, Evanston, H-F, LWE and Maine South leading the list of contenders. The seven teams will play a grand total of 16 games over the weekend at an event that the hosts won last season.

Game Recaps

St Patrick 11 Lincoln-Way East 1

Joseph Gibson recorded 4 goals, Jason Schuler added 3 scores, and Tim Noble blocked 16 shots as the Shamrocks defeated LWE 11-1. Andrew Ciszek also scored 2 times while Anthony Barsano and Michael Taylor each chipped in with one score in the win.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 13 Maine South 1

Haden Santefort registered 6 goals and both Michael Bonthron and Travis Tanner scored 2 goals apiece as the Vikings earned a 13-1 win over Maine South.  Jonny Schmidt chipped in with 6 assists and Michael Bonthron made 6 steals for the victors.

 

St Patrick 9 Homewood-Flossmoor 7

The Shamrocks put together a 6-0 run in the third period to pull away from the Vikings and earn a 9-7 victory. Haden Santefort scored 4 goals in the loss for H-F.

 

Brother Rice 16 Homewood-Flossmoor 8

The Crusaders outscored the Vikings 11-4 in the second half to earn a 16-8 win on Saturday afternoon. In the loss, Haden Santefort scored 3 times, John Schloen and Mike Mitchell each tallied 2 scores, and Lucas Santefort blocked 16 shots for H-F.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 14 Bremen 8

Haden Santefort totaled 7 goals and Luke Santefort made 15 saves to lead the Vikings past Bremen 14-8. Johnny Schmidt and Michael Bonthron each added 2 goals in the win for H-F.

 

St Patrick 6 Brother Rice 5

Joseph Gibson scored 3 goals and Tim Noble made 14 saves to lift the Shamrocks over Brother Rice 6-5 in virtual title game of the St Patrick Tournament on Saturday night. Anthony Barsono, Jason Schuler and Michael Taylor each scored once in the win for the hosts.
