Brother Rice 12 St Ignatius 11

The Crusaders earned a key Catholic League victory by edging St Ignatius 12-11 on Wednesday night. Matt Bachler recorded 6 goals in the win for the hosts. Shane Hughes scored 6 times and Gunnar Glaab netted 4 goals in the loss for the Wolfpack.

Conant 18 Fremd 10

Braden LaMore recorded 4 goals while Cody Yeiser, Connor Schmitz, Mihir Patel and Jim Estep each tallied 3 scores as the Cougars knocked off Fremd 18-10.

 

Fenwick 17 St Rita 9

Colin Daly and Danny Farmer both scored 4 goals and Will Skowron made 9 saves and blocked a penalty shot as the Friars defeated St Rita 17-9. Bailey Wendt and DJ Perez each added 2 scores in the win for the top-ranked visitors.

 

Hersey 10 Elk Grove 5

The Huskies earned a key home victory in MSL East play as they got past Elk Grove 10-5. Statistics for the victors coming soon. Meanwhile, Chris Doruff registered 2 scores and the trio of Adam Doruff, David Dragne and Elias Zenkich each scored once in the losing effort.

 

Loyola 23 Mt Carmel 7

Mike Considine recorded 4 goals, Chris Jovanovich notched 3 scores, and Walter Haracz totaled 13 saves, 7 steals, and scored a goal as the Ramblers downed Mt Carmel 23-7. Drew Lantz and Peter Naughton also scored key goals in the win for the defending champs.

 

Prospect 10 Buffalo Grove 8

Sam Gabriel notched 6 scores and Isaac Ginnodo put in 4 goals as the Knights defeated BG 10-8. Ryan Lawson netted 4 goals and Anthony Sorgani added 2 scores in the loss for the Bison.

 

Schaumburg 12 Palatine 10 (OT)

Frank Kovar and Tyler Gustafson and each put in 4 scores and James Birriel added 3 goals as the Saxons outlasted Palatine 12-10 in overtime on Wednesday. Christian Zielinski scored once, Jack Pyde chipped in with 5 assists and Edin Latic made 14 saves for the victors. Ryan Schlaiss totaled 6 scores and Marcus Carter-Buckman tallied 2 scores for the Pirates, who also received a strong contribution on the defensive end from Jacob Baran (8 steals, 6 ejections drawn).

The Wolfpack clinched a perfect regular season record in the Catholic League after getting past Mother McAuley 12-2 on Wednesday at UIC.

Barrington 5 Hoffman 2

The Fillies broke a 2-2 deadlock in the fourth quarter with a 3-0 run to earn a 5-2 win over the visiting Hawks on Wednesday. Heidi Pallan scored 2 times while Mia Latimer, Magdalena Emary and Samantha Tabert each added one score for the victors. Allie Ouimet and Megan Bonney each scored once for HEHS.

 

Conant 8 Fremd 1

Emily Weingart notched 4 scores, Carmen Rosas tallied 2 scores, and Maddy Demaret totaled 19 saves and 5 steals in the Cougars' 8-1 victory over Fremd. Miranda Fenlon and Sam Wooley each contributed one score for the MSL West leaders. Tami Carlson scored the lone goal in the loss for the Vikings.

 

Lincoln-Way East 14 Stagg 9

Teresa DiGiovanni registered 6 goals and Caroline Heathcock scored 3 times as the Griffins knocked off Stagg 14-9 in a SWSC fixture.

 

Marian 10 Resurrection 6

Mae VanBeest poured in 5 goals in the final period to help the Spartans put away the Bandits with a 10-6 victory on Wednesday evening in Catholic League play.

 

Palatine 9 Schaumburg 3

Caroline Wojtas scored 3 goals and Tess O'Brien made 17 saves to lead the Pirates past Schaumburg 9-3 on Wednesday. Kelsey Hank and Mathilde Mogensen each registered 2 scores while Caitlin McHugh and Hannah Jozefat both tallied one score in the win. McHugh led the defense with 5 steals. Brianna Vasquez netted 2 goals and Danielle Grubb put in one score in the loss for the Saxons.

 

Sandburg 11 Lane 1

Sarah Dolitsky recorded 6 goals and drew 3 ejections while Morgan Bartelment stopped 10 shots as the Eagles knocked off Lane 11-1 in Orland Park.
