A resurgent Chargers team plays host to a H-F team hoping to get things back on track after an up-and-down Spring Break week. Stagg is coming off an upset win over #11 Sandburg, while H-F finished fourth at the St Patrick Tournament over the weekend.

The Catholic League title is basically on the line when the Wolfpack travel to Fenwick to take on the Friars in one of the biggest games of the season. Fenwick has won both encounters with SICP, including a 9-6 win on Saturday at the Mike Murphy Tournament.

Both teams enter this MSL West contest with 4-0 divisional records, so the outcome of this contest will gain the upper-hand in advancing to the MSL title game in May.

St Patrick 7 Brother Rice 6

Connor O'Rourke scored 4 goals to lead the Shamrocks to their second straight one-goal victory over the Crusaders; the hosts won 7-6 this time around after beating Brother Rice 8-7 on Saturday.

Bradley 11 Lincoln-Way West 10

Grant Langfoss recorded 4 goals and Nick Dalzell totaled 3 scores and 7 assists in Bradley's 11-10 victory over LWW.

 

Buffalo Grove 8 Wheeling 7

Brandon Hausfeld scored 5 goals, including the game-winner at the end of regulation, as BG knocked off Wheeling 8-7 on Monday night.

 

Fremd 16 Hoffman 6

Luke Stark tallied 6 goals and Michael Goedken blocked 9 shots to help the Vikings get past Hoffman 16-6 on Monday. Alex Nicholas, Conrad Wojdaszewicz, and Zach Starkey also scored 2 goals apiece for Fremd.

 

Glenbrook North 17 STC East 9

John Roberts poured in 10 goals and Sam Fishman blocked 10 shots as the Spartans beat STC East 17-9 on Monday evening. Josh Kasanoff totaled 4 scores and Robert Liberman scored once and added 5 assists for the victors.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 9 Stagg 5

Broc Thompson scored 3 goals and both Haden Santefort and Marcus Perry chipped in with 2 scores to help the Vikings earn a 9-5 victory over Stagg. Jakobi McClellan stopped 7 shots in the winning effort for H-F. Meanwhile, Nick Amendola recorded 4 goals in the loss for the Chargers.

 

Libertyville 18 Maine West 8

The Wildcats overcame an early 4-1 deficit to earn an 18-8 win over Maine West. Holly Wasicak totaled 4 goals and 8 steals and Kristen Burger also tallied 4 scores in the loss for the Warriors. 

 

Lincoln-Way Central 10 Lincoln-Way North 3

Tristan Funk registered 4 goals, Kyle Forsythe netted 3 goals, and Jake Burke stopped 13 shots as LWC defeated LWN 10-3. Conor McGowan also scored 2 times and Ryan Sterling put in one goal in the win for the Knights.

 

Loyola 14 St Rita 7

Cameron Shewchuck recorded 3 goals and the trio of Jack Nickele, Jack Schermerhorn, and Tom Baker each put in 2 scores in the Ramblers' 14-7 triumph over St Rita. Dan Sliazas scored 4 goals in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

McHenry 15 Maine West 10

McHenry went on the road to earn a 15-10 victory over Maine West in a nonconference matchup. Dylan Schlimka led the hosts with 4 goals in the losing effort.

 

Oak Park 15 Hinsdale South 4

Mark Hallman scored 4 goals and Robbie Wickes put in 3 scores to lead OPRF past Hinsdale South 15-4. Dimitry Baycharov and Kevin Perez also tallied 2 goals apiece in the win for the Huskies.

 

Palatine 17 Conant 11

Kristian Kalev and Mike Yurcheshen each tallied 4 goals and both Omar El Hoffi and Mihai Maior tacked on 3 goals as Palatine defeated Conant 17-11. Wally Kleinfeldt added 2 scores and drew 4 ejections, Jacob Baran scored once, and Colin White made 10 saves in the victory. Connor Schmitz scored 4 goals in the loss for the Cougars.

 

Sandburg 12 Lincoln-Way East 6

Zach Roper totaled 8 goals and Ben Crnich added 2 scores as Sandburg downed LWE 12-6. Mitch Zieler also added a goal in the win for the Eagles.

 

St Viator 15 Mt Carmel 7

Tommy Madaras registered 5 goals and Eric Sutton netted 4 goals as the Lions defeated Mt Carmel 15-7.

Fenwick 13 St Ignatius 7

Top-ranked Fenwick earned their second straight win over St Ignatius on Monday night, getting past the second-ranked Wolfpack 13-7 to takeover sole position of the top spot in the Catholic League. Colleen Barron and Catie Wallace each recorded 5 goals and both Alexa Ovalle and Bridget Carey chipped in with one score in the Friars' win. Meanwhile, Tammy Stelnicki scored 4 goals and the trio of Diana Fernandez, Karen Juarez, and Stephania Lopez each scored once in the losing effort.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Andrew 20 Richards 1

Megan Hofer totaled 7 goals and 6 assists and Genny McCarthy put in 5 goals as the T-Bolts beat Richards 20-1 on Monday. Anna Tamulonis and Catherine Stouffer combined to stop 11 shots in the win, while Caily Friel, Alexys Knight and Courtney Carter each tallied 2 scores for the victors.

 

Conant 11 Palatine 6

Angie Skittone scored 4 goals, Carmen Rosas netted 3 goals, and Emily Weingart scored 2 times as the Cougars built an 8-3 halftime lead en route to an 11-6 victory over Palatine on Monday. Maddy Demaret stopped 11 shots while Kaitlyn Claffey and Sam Wooley each added one score in the win for the MSL West leaders. Rachel Chumbook led the Pirates with 3 scores, while Caitlin McHugh, Lauren Rasor and Maryana Dvorska all totaled one goal in the loss.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 17 Stagg 3

Megan Dunlavy scored 5 goals and Amber Barney notched 4 scores to lead the Vikings past Stagg 17-3. Kelly Morrissey and Sarah Tozer each added 3 goals while both Alexis Anderson and Andrea Stilts tallied once score apiece in the H-F win. Mallory Schaub scored all 3 goals in the loss for the Chargers.

 

Lincoln-Way North 5 Lincoln-Way Central 3

The Phoenix earned a key conference win over LWC 5-3 on Monday night. Niki Beringer scored 3 goals in the victory. Kristi Howe scored 3 goals and Sabrina Miglorini made 15 saves for the Knights.

 

Loyola 16 York 4

Marta Considine recorded 8 goals and Claire Voss tallied 5 scores as Loyola built a 12-0 halftime lead and emerged with a 16-4 road victory over York. Colleen Ahern also blocked 15 shots in the win for Loyola. Perri Brinkmeier, Kirsten Rasnic, Lauren Tamm and Carly York each scored once in the loss for the hosts.

 

Maine East 6 St Viator 3

Maria Protic scored 3 goals to help lead Maine East to a 6-3 win over St Viator. Laura Foss led the Lions with 9 steals and Nina Byskosh totaled 10 saves in the losing effort.

 

Oak Park 22 Hinsdale South 3

Katie Appell notched 5 scores and Elena Levi D'Ancona, Genna Curry, and Maura Dahl all totaled 3 scores as OPRF beat Hinsdale South 22-3. Claire Rolfes, Elizabeth Williams, and Jilly Cronin each added 2 goals while goalie Jordin Hale totaled 11 saves and 5 assists in the win.

 

Prospect 3 Hersey 2 (OT)

Ellie McGough, Michaela Malone, and Niki Neumann each scored once to lift Prospect over Hersey 3-2 in a defensive battle that needed overtime to realize a winner.

 

Sandburg 14 Lincoln-Way East 10

Danielle Lencioni and Sarah Dolitsky both scored 4 times as the Eagles downed LWE 14-10.

 

Wheeling 11 Buffalo Grove 4

Theresa Godlewski notched 7 goals, Rebecca Sowa put in 3 scores, and Argelia Diaz scored once as the Wildcats earned an 11-4 victory over BG in an MSL East contest.
