TOURNAMENT RECAP (Saturday, April 21)

NAPERVILLE NORTH TOURNAMENT

Huskies Capture Tournament Title At Own Event

Naperville North broke a halftime tie with a 9-2 run to beat Whitney Young and win their own event on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies also beat Stagg and edged Lockport to finish with a 3-0 record. The second-place Dolphins beat Palatine and drew with Hinsdale Central to get to the final game. Lockport defeated Hinsdale Central for third place and Palatine edged Stagg 18-15 in the fifth place game. See below for recaps and game information:


Saturday's Game Recaps

Naperville North 18 Stagg 6

Thirteen different players nicked goals for the Huskies, with Audrey Chien, Emily Ault, Jessie Lietz, Jillian Eiken, and Sofi Prorok each coming away with 2 goals each. Liz Hadhazy scored all 6 goals for Stagg.

 

Hinsdale Central 10 Palatine 8

Sarah Pircon recorded 4 scores and Caroline Oakum added 3 goals as the Red Devils knocked off Palatine 10-8 on Saturday.

 

Lockport 16 Stagg 7

Liz Latka notched 6 scores and both Megan Cavanaugh and Paige Adelman scored 3 times as the Porters beat Stagg 16-7. Liz Hadhazy led the Chargers with 3 scores in the loss.

 

Whitney Young 2 Hinsdale Central 2

The Dolphins and Red Devils finished a low-scoring affair tied at 2-2 on Saturday. Audrey Anderson and Fairie Hughes each netted one score for Young, while Sarah Pircon notched both goals for the Red Devils. Nya Wilkins blocked 11 shots in the draw for the Dolphins.

 

Naperville North 8 Lockport 5

Sofi Prorok tallied 3 scores and Jessie Lietz scored 2 goals to help lead the Huskies past Lockport 8-5. Liz Latka and Megan Cavanaugh both scored 2 times in the losing effort.

 

Whitney Young 6 Palatine 3

Emily Asai recorded 3 scores and Gabby Chelette chipped in with 2 goals as the Dolphins topped Palatine 6-3. Rachel Chumbrook led the Pirates with 2 goals in the loss.

 

Palatine 18 Stagg 15

Maryana Dvorska poured in 10 goals to lift Palatine past Stagg 18-15 in the fifth-place game of the North Tournament. Rachel Chumbrook also totaled 7 scores in the Pirates' win. Liz Hadhazy registered 12 goals in the loss for the Chargers.

 

Lockport 12 Hinsdale Central 4

Christine Bafia recorded 5 goals and Liz Latka added 3 as Lockport grabbed third place with a 12-4 win over Hinsdale Central. Megan Cavanaugh also scored 2 times for the winnners.

 

Naperville North 14 Whitney Young 7

Sofi Prorok tallied 5 goals and Jillian Eiken netted 3 scores as the Huskies won their own tournament by beating Whitney Young 14-7 in the event's title game. Audrey Chien, Jessie Lietz, and Taylor Bridgman each added 2 scores in the title-winning effort for the hosts, who outscored the visitors 9-2 in the second half. Susan Engemann and Susy Zizumbo each netted 3 scores in the Dolphins' loss.
