GAME RECAPS (Thursday, April 26)

 

BOYS

Homewood-Flossmoor 10 Lockport 8

Zach Peterson recorded 4 goals and Nick Thiros added 3 scores as H-F knocked off Lockport 10-8. Jakobi McClellan totaled 10 saves in the Vikings' win. Dave Hir scored 3 times and Zach Trent added 2 scores in the loss for the Porters.

 

Payton-Jones 15 Chicago Ag 7

Joseph Spadoro notched 5 scores in Payton-Jones' 15-7 victory over Chicago Ag. Malcom Carter led CA with 4 scores in the losing effort.

 

Sandburg 16 Lincoln-Way East 4

Matt Veldman tallied 5 goals, Anthony Bonnar recorded 4 scores, and Mike Malecki saved 12 shots in the Eagles' 16-4 win over LWE.

 

Schaumburg 15 Metea Valley 7

Randy Carr poured in 8 goals and Marty Kwiatkowski added 4 scores as the Saxons topped Metea Valley 15-7 on Thursday night. Matt McMullen added 3 scores and Marty Faleni blocked 15 shots in the winning effort. Cameron Weber led the Mustangs with 4 goals in the loss.

 

Stagg 12 Lincoln-Way North 10

Juan Valdez totaled 5 goals and 9 steals and Jihad Ramadan blocked 9 shots as Stagg beat LWN 12-10.

 

STC East 15 STC North 8

The Saints beat their local rivals for the third time this season, winning 15-8 on Thursday. Mitch Phelps scored 6 times, Shaun Seuscheck added 5 goals, and Stephen Mason tallied 3 scores in the win for East. Joey Chokran notched 4 scores in the losing effort for North.

 

Von Steuben 15 Northside 8

Juan Laboy tallied 11 goals as Von Steuben upended Northside 15-8.

 


 

GIRLS

Andrew 9 Bradley 8

Annamarie Lettiere and Megan Hofer each scored 3 times and Rachel Fus put in 2 goals in Andrew's 9-8 triumph over Bradley. Jordan Bartolini also made 10 saves for the T-Bolts, who overcame a 6-5 deficit heading into the final period of regulation. Drew Lecuyer totaled 4 scores and Megan Ouwena added 2 goals in the loss for the Lady Boilers.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 8 Lockport 6

Rebecca Mathews tallied 6 scores in the Vikings' 8-6 win over Lockport.

 

Metea Valley 12 Schaumburg 9

The Mustangs earned their fourteenth win of the season, holding off Schaumburg 12-9. Lizzie Hollopeter and Mia Palladino both scored 6 times in the win for Metea. Kristy Bessler recorded 4 goals and Ashley Johnson and Haven Aldridge each tallied 2 scores in the loss for the Saxons.

 

Naperville Central 11 Fremd 2

Abbey Kerth found the net 8 times and Emily Sejna notched 2 scores as the Redhawks beat Fremd 11-2 in a battle of Top 5 teams. Julia Campbell also recorded 18 saves in Central's victory. Lauren Zambelli scored both goals for the Vikings, while Julie Conrath saved 11 shots in the losing cause.

 

Neuqua Valley 9 Conant 7

Brooke Bedford netted 3 scores and Kaitlyn Gorski added 2 goals as Neuqua held on to beat Conant 9-7. Andie Cobb and Jessica Southern both recorded 3 goals in the loss for the Cougars.

 

Palatine 11 Resurrection 7

Nicole Theis totaled 5 goals and Rachel Chumbook netted 3 scores in the Pirates' 11-7 nonconference win over Resurrection. Caroline Wojtas made 9 saves in the victory for Palatine.

 

Payton-Jones 10 Morgan Park 6

Annika Schick scored 5 times to help lead Payton-Jones past Morgan Park 10-6. Janelle Wenner tallied 3 scores in the loss for the Mustangs.

 

Sandburg 12 Lincoln-Way East 11

Jamie Pappanastos scored 5 goals to help Sandburg come-from-behind to beat LWE 12-11. Zoe McCabe scored 6 goals and both Emily Koss and Haley McCabe scored 2 times in the Griffins's loss. Tricia Paul also made 9 saves in the losing effort.

 

STC North 17 STC East 3

Sarah Stern recorded 5 goals and Claire Bultema notched 4 scores in the North Stars' 17-3 win over STC East on Thursday.

 

Wheeling 14 Glenbrook South 2

Heather Murphy scored 7 times and Leah Malsom added 4 goals as the Wildcats downed GBS 14-2.

 

York 9 Hersey 8

Carly Redmond totaled 6 goals as York defeated Hersey 9-8 in nonconference action on Thursday.
