2016 SECTIONALS
More than 150 boys and girls teams will begin their quest for a chance to advance to the state tournament, starting with the sectional play-in games on May 9 & 10.

 

The boys' quarterfinal action starts on May 11, followed by the girls' quarterfinal games on May 12. The sectional semifinals are played on May 13, with the sectional final games all taking place on Saturday, May 14.

Links to every sectional site are provided below. These will be updated continuously with schedules, game times, and scores/recaps throughout the week of sectionals. At the end of the week, we will have Sectional Ballers and the All-Sectional Teams (as soon as they are submitted to us from each sectional site).

Deerfield 15 Vernon Hills 5

Katherine Rogers scored 10 goals to help lead the Warriors to a 15-5 win over Vernon Hills. Nomi Willis also scored 5 times in the winning effort.

 

Buffalo Grove 7 Wheeling 4

The Bison outscored the Wildcats 5-2 in the second half to break a 2-2 halftime deadlock as BG moved on to the next round following a 7-4 win over Wheeling. Adrienne Rozmus, Argelia Diaz, Holly Schroeder and Meghan Hergert each scored once in the losing effort.

 

 

Elk Grove 12 St Viator 1

Lilly Lawrin recorded 5 goals, Alyssa Rosenorn scored 3 times and Jessica Deering made 11 saves as the Grenadiers got past St Viator 12-1. Hannah Sallenback also scored 2 goals in the winning effort. Megan Drake scored once in the loss for the Lions.

 

Schaumburg 13 Hoffman 4

Hannah Pearson registered 6 goals and Brianna Vasquez scored 3 goals as the Saxons pulled away from Hoffman to earn a 13-4 victory on Tuesday. Becca Kasner also scored 2 times in the win. Jenny Fermaintt notched 4 scores in the loss for the Hawks.

Andrew 5 Lincoln-Way West 4

Alexys Knight recorded 3 goals and Olivia Kasper made 7 saves as the T-Bolts held off LWW 5-4 to move on to the sectional quarterfinals. Cailey Pietrzyk and Jessica Gomez also scored one goal each in the win. victory. Cailey Janosek scored 3 times in the loss for the Warriors.

 

Homewood-Flossmoor 14 Marian 0

Eliza Sykes (8 saves) and the Vikings' defense earned a 14-0 shutout win over Marian to advance to the sectional quarterfinals. Brooke Pair scored 3 goals while Brianna Rauch, Eliza Sykes, Gabby Palomo and Sam Klupchak each scored 2 times in the victory. Brooke Butler, Emily Mathews and Gabby Wilson each added one score while Mia Martin also made 4 saves. Gabrielle Fullilove stopped 8 shots in the loss for the Spartans.

 

 

Lockport 9 STC East 6

The Porters overcame a 6-2 deficit in the second half by putting together a 7-0 run as they earned a 9-6 victory over STC East. Kennedy Ruther scored 3 goals and Mariah Dicksen made 26 saves in the win to surpass 400 saves this season. Sienna Schulte tallied 3 scores, Sarah Sandecki netted 2 goals and Emma Rooney made 12 saves in the loss for the hosts.
