Quarter 1

Neuqua gets a man-up situation but Meghan Nolan makes a steal for McAuley to deny any scoring chances

Lilly Gonzalez picks up her second ejection in the first quarter, and a stoppage in play gives Neuqua a chance to set up the offense

Bridget Kelly makes a save on Chelsea R

Kayley Provow denies Lilly Cortez from outside in a man-up situation, but Meghan Nolan scores on McAuley's second chance to make the score 1-0

Cortez hits the crossbar from outside with 1:18 left in the opening period and Kathleen Patterson recovers the loose ball

Jilly Fairbanks fires from outside but Kelly is there to make the save

Provow blocks a lob shot by Yuriria Chavez in the final seconds of the quarter, then hits the post on a last-second shot as time expires in quarter one

Quarter 2

Provow comes out of the net to make a steal on a set pass intended for Chavez

Chavez draws an ejection and Maggie McShane scores to put McAuley ahead 2-0 at the 5:28 mark of the second quarter

Patterson's shot from the right side goes wide left and McAuley counters

Chavez flips a shot to left of the net and Provow starts the counterattack for Neuqua

Kelly deflects Patterson's shot from the right side out of bounds and Neuqua does not get another shot on goal on their possession

Wood draws an ejection but Provow denies her shot from the left side

Fairbanks misses to left side of the net, but Provow makes another save on the opposite end

Wood scores on a man-up situation for McAuley from in front of the net to make it 3-0 with 1:26 left to play in the half

Brittany Jadwin puts Neuqua on the board with a goal from the right side to cut McAuley's lead to 3-1 in the final minute of the second quarter

Neuqua draws an ejection and calls a timeout with 0:14 left in the half; Neuqua cannot score as halftime arrives

Quarter 3

Reczek's shot to start the quarter is deflected and McAuley recovers the loose ball

Nolan makes a steal to start the counterattack for McAuley, but Neuqua gets it back after a turnover

Kelly stops a shot from 4m by Reczek to keep McAuley ahead by two goals

Reczek drives but Wood gets in front of her to force a turnover

Patterson shoots over the net from outside 7m after drawing a foul

Wood draws an ejection but Provow tips her shot from 2m and Neuqua recovers the loose ball

Reczek shoots from outside 5m and has her shot deflected into the left corner as Neuqua cuts the McAuley lead to 3-2

McAuley takes a timeout with under three minutes remaining in the third quarter

Chavez scores from 2m after the timeout as McAuley takes a 4-2 lead with 2:19 left in the third period

Kelly makes a save and Chavez draws an ejection at 2m, but Provow stops her shot from in front of the net to keep Neuqua behind by only two

Kelly blocks Kristen Trucco's shot from 7m

Wood's lob shot from 7m hits the right post and bounces in to make it 5-2 with 0:38 left in the third quarter

Kelly stops Jadwin's shot from the left side at the end of the quarter as McAuley maintains a three goal lead

Quarter 4

Reczek's shot at the start of the quarter is deflected and saved by Kelly

Provow makes a save on Chavez' shot from 2m, but McAuley gets it back after an offensive foul

Trucco makes a steal and Neuqua draws an ejection and calls timeout trailing 5-2 in the fourth quarter

Kelly saves a 2m shot by Reczek with 4:45 remaining and starts the counterattack for McAuley

Chavez draws an ejection on Trucco and scores at 2m, assisted by Cortez, as McAuley pulls ahead 6-2 with 4:23 left

Trucco draws an ejection, but Kelly makes a save to deny a Neuqua goal

Chavez scores her second straight goal from the right post to make it 7-2 with 2:54 to play

Wood makes a steal with 1:12 left and McAuley takes a timeout

State Tournament Blog

The state tournament blog will cover all of the action from Thursday to Saturday from Stevenson High School. Starting with the 4:30pm game between Loyola and St Ignatius, this page will show live play-by-play for the current game in progress. Links will be provided for games that have already been played with play-by-play from all previous games on individual pages.

We have updated to broadband wireless this year, so the site should be updated more frequently than in previous years.
