PERIOD 1

-Boothe with an early steal after Ignatius started with it; J Stelnicki makes a save on the other end

-Maloney's lob attempt from 7m hits the crossbar and the Mustangs recover the loose ball

-Ignatius with a stop, then Mundelein returns the favor on the other end

-Boothe gets Mundelein on the scoreboard first with a lob shot from the left side

-Maloney's shot attempt from the right side bounces off the crossbar and into Mundelein's possession

-J Stelnicki gets to a loose ball and starts the Ignatius counter

-Maloney feeds Stelnicki with a pass to the right post and she equalizes for the Wolfpack

-Boothe fires in a shot from outside 7m and Mundelein goes back ahead 2-1

-After a stop, Garcia draws an ejection and Mundelein calls timeout

-Blake walks in and scores on the powerplay, giving Mundelein a 3-1 advantage

-Both teams with stops, then Maloney finds Fernandez wide open for a goal to make the score 3-2

-Garcia responds with a quick goal from 5m to make it 4-2

-After trading possessions, Maloney cuts the Mundelein lead to 4-3 late in the period

-Time runs out on the opening quarter with Mundelein leading 4-3

PERIOD 2

-Stelnicki and Evangelides work the give-and-go but Ward elevates to make a save

-Ignatius keeps possession and Fernandez scores from outside 5m to tie the score

-Ignatius with a stop, Ward denies Juarez on the other end, then Ignatius forces a turnover

-Ignatius timeout

-After an ejection, White grabs a rebound on the right post and scores to give Ignatius their first lead

-After a stop, Stelnicki puts SICP ahead 6-4 with her second goal

-Defensive stand for the Wolfpack leads to a goal by Juarez and Ignatius goes ahead 7-4

-Mundelein timeout

-Fernandez continues the run for the Wolfpack with a goal from hole-set; 8-4 Ignatius

-Ward assists Blake on a counterattack goal from the left post

-Maloney feeds Fernandez for another goal from 2m out; 9-5 Ignatius

-Boothe converts from 5m to slice the lead to 9-6

-Stelnicki draws a penalty shot that she converts to the right side to make the score 10-6

-Ignatius with a stea,l but Stelnicki's shot from the left just misses wide of the left post

-Evangelides adds a late goal for SICP as they finish the half on an 8-2 run and lead 11-6

PERIOD 3

-The defenses step up their play to start the half as we are two minutes in without a goal

-Fernandez changes that with a goal from the left side to make the score 12-6

-Ward denies a breakaway chance for Ignatius and makes another stop on SICP's next scoring chance

-Rebound goal for Stelnicki as the Wolfpack pull ahead 13-6

-J Stelnicki denies a Mundelein penalty shot attempt; T Stelnicki scores on the other end for Ignatius

-Mundelein draws an ejection and calls timeout

-The Wolfpack get a stop as the final minute of the period approaches

-Ward denies an outside shot attempt but the Mustangs cannot get a shot on goal on the other end

-An Ignatius turnover gives Mundelein one more chance to score, but Ward shoots over the goal

ST IGNATIUS 14 MUNDELEIN 6

 

PERIOD 4

-Boothe earns a steal for the Mustangs on SICP's first possession; Ignatius forces a turnover as well

-Fernandez skids a shot off the right post from 2m; Ward might have gotten a finger on it for the save

-Ward elevates and gets her left hand on a close-range shot; Ignatius retains possession

-Ward with another save and this time assists Garcia on a counterattack goal

-The Mustangs get a stop and Ward scores from her own goal to make the score 14-8!

-Ignatius comes away empty-handed on their next possession and Boothe scores on the other end

-Ignatius timeout

-Kozokar comes in off the bench to score from 2m to cut the lead to 14-10 with 2:19 left

-Mundelein with a stop and Kozokar's shot from 5m is good to make the score 14-11

-Kozokar earns a steal, but White returns the favor on the other end as we enter the final minute

-Ward with a save, but Mundelein turns it over on the other end

-Ignatius runs the clock out on a 14-11 win

Tammy Stelnicki recorded 5 goals and Diana Fernandez added 4 scores to lead St Ignatius to a 14-11 win over Mundelein. Allie Booth scored 4 times and Emily Garcia, Lauren Blake, and Karrie Kozokar scored 2 goals in the losing effort for the hosts.
