PERIOD 1

-Each team with a stop in the opening minute

-Ovalle feeds Angelini after a drive and she scores to give Fenwick takes a 1-0 lead

-Ignatius draws an ejection and Stelnicki finds Fernandez open at 2m to tie the score

-Barron nets her first goal to put Fenwick back ahead by one

-Carey's outside shot slips inside the left post to make the score 3-1 in favor of the Friars

-Stelnicki answers quickly for the Wolfpack to cut the lead to 3-2

-Barron's second score increases the Friars lead to 4-2 with just under three minutes left in Q1

-Buglio gets her hand on a lob attempt and retrieves the rebound

-Erin Kulik scores in the closing seconds of the period for Fenwick...

-...but Stelnicki scores from beyond 9m at the buzzer to cut the Fenwick lead to 5-3

PERIOD 2

-An early stop for Ignatius leads to an ejection, and Stelnicki scores from 5m to make it 5-4

-The Wolfpack force a turnover but Buglio makes a save on the other end for Fenwick

-Fenwick hits the crossbar and J Stelnicki gets to the rebound

-Ignatius timeout

-The teams trade possessions and Angelini makes a key block to prevent an SICP scoring chance

-Buglio passes ahead to Wallace, who gets loose on a breakaway and scores to the inside of the left post

-Evangelides converts two possessions later and the Fenwick lead is trimmed to 6-5

-The Friars force a turnover, Angelini drives and draws an ejection, but they miss two close-range shots

-Maloney's skip shot gets past Buglio and the Wolfpack tie the score at 6-6!

-Barron's third goal comes from inside 5m as Fenwick reclaims the lead

-Buglio gets her fingertip on a 2m attempt, it deflects off the post, and she quickly gets to the rebound

-A last second attempt by Fenwick is tipped off the crossbar by J Stelnicki as the horn sounds

PERIOD 3

-Ignatius wins the swim-off but Stelnicki gets shut down at 2m before getting a shot off

-Buglio finds Barron open on the left side and she drives and scores to make the score 8-6

-A Fenwick stop leads to Angelini's second goal at the other end

-J Stelnicki makes a save but Ovalle pushes in the rebound to give Fenwick a 10-6 advantage

-Ignatius timeout

-The Friars force a turnover and Wallace nets her second from 5m; 11-6 Fenwick

-Stelnicki answers quickly for the Wolfpack to make it 11-7

-Fenwick stop, ejection drawn, and Barron capitalizes from 5m to make it 12-7

-Carey and Angelini score on Fenwick's next two possessions and the lead is 14-7 after Q3

FENWICK 14 ST IGNATIUS 7

 

PERIOD 4

-Ignatius with a stop, then Fernandez fires a surprise backhand in from the left side

-The teams trade the next two possessions without any solid scoring chances

-White gets two looks at goal, but Buglio is equal to the task and makes two saves

-Ignatius force a turnover as the clock moves under the four minute mark

-Stelnicki earns a penalty shot and converts to make the score 14-9

-Stelnicki scores again, this time from 7m, to trim the lead to 14-10

-Jillian Wickham scores from outside 5m to give Fenwick a late 15-10 lead

-Stelnicki responds within seconds from outside 9m to make it 15-11

-Carey answers on the other end for Fenwick; Fenwick now leads 16-11

-The scoring ends in the final minute as the Friars hold on to knock off SICP by a 16-11 score

Fenwick 16 St Ignatius 11

Colleen Barron registered 5 goals and both Bridget Carey and Janie Angelini put in 3 scores as the Friars knocked off St Ignatius 16-11 on Friday. Catie Wallace also scored 2 goals in the win for Fenwick. Tammy Stelnicki led the Wolfpack with 7 goals and Diana Fernandez notched 2 scores in the loss.
