Wednesday, May 7

Quarterfinals

(1) Conant 14 (8) Palatine 9

Chris Emery tallied 4 goals to lead the Cougars past Palatine 14-9 at the Hoffman Sectional. Brad Ferris scored 3 times in the loss for the Pirates.

(5) Hoffman 8 (4) Fremd 7

Justin Simanis scored 4 goals and Jeff Skalon added 3 scores as Hoffman stunned Fremd 8-7 to advance to the semifinals of their own sectional. The Hawks trailed 7-4 in the second half, but used a 4-0 run in the final ten minutes to earn the win, as Skalon scored the game-winner with just under one minute remaining in regulation. Brad Johnson led the Vikings with 3 scores in the loss.

(2) Schaumburg 18 (7) Rolling Meadows 17 (OT)

Chris Corbett scored from two meters out with one second left in the second overtime period as Schaumburg defeated Rolling Meadows 18-17 at the Hoffman Sectional on Wednesday. Corbett totaled 6 goals to lead the Saxons to the win. Luke Shafer and Stephen Gerbatsch each scored 5 goals in the loss for the Mustangs.

(3) Barrington 16 (6) Buffalo Grove 7

Mike Byron scored 5 goals to lead Barrington to a 16-7 victory over Buffalo Grove in the last game of the Hoffman Sectional on Wednesday night. Matt Cooney scored 3 times in the loss for the Bison.

Friday, May 9

Semifinals

(1) Conant 8 (5) Hoffman 5

Chris Emery and Blaine Grzegorek each scored 3 goals to lead Conant to an 8-5 victory over Hoffman in Friday's first semifinal game at the Hoffman Sectional. The Hawks trailed 6-5 late in the game, but Conant put the game away with two straight goals in the closing minutes to seal the win. Justin Simanis scored 3 times in the loss for Hoffman.

(2) Schaumburg 15 (3) Barrington 7

Drew Cinelli recorded 4 goals and Kevin Kledzik added 3 scores as Schaumburg defeated Barrington 15-7 on Friday night. Mike Byron led Barrington with 4 goals in the loss.

Saturday, May 10

Finals

(2) Schaumburg 10 (1) Conant 6

Drew Cinelli scored 4 goals and Mike Kehoe added 2 scores as Schaumburg stunned Conant 10-6 on Saturday at the Hoffman Sectional. Saxons' goalie Neal Salemi stopped 16 shots in the net, while Kevin Kledzik, Pat Kraulis, Chris Corbett, and Aaron Johnson each tallied goals in the win. Chris Emery totaled 3 goals in the loss for Conant.
