METEA TOURNAMENT

Naperville North 13 Neuqua Valley 6

Cole Jacobs and Spencer Wallace both recorded 3 goals while Jon Jon Pettinger and Reilly McDonnell both put in 2 goals as the Huskies emerged with a 13-6 victory over Neuqua Valley. Joey Dalesandro led the Wildcats with 4 goals while Adam McGovern and Troy Salafatinos each scored once in the losing effort.

 

Neuqua Valley 15 Metea Valley 13

Joey Dalesandro totaled 9 goals and 4 assists, Troy Salafatinos notched 4 scores and JP Leshock tallied 2 goals as the Wildcats bounced back from an earlier loss to beat Metea Valley 15-13.

 

 

PALATINE TOURNAMENT

St Ignatius 12 Curie 9

Shane Hughes registered 7 goals, both Andreas Christy and Moises Lopez scored 2 times and Sam Enger stopped 8 shots in the Wolfpack's 12-9 victory over Curie. Bradley Yendro also scored once in the win for SICP.

 

New Trier 10 Mundelein 6

Michael Krueger notched 3 scores and both Charlie Ryan and Henry Yavitt each scored 2 times as the Trevians defeated Mundelein 10-6.  Alex Holme, Danilo Skecic and Sam Yavitt each added one goal for the victors.

 

Loyola 8 Oak Park 4

Kevin Manna tallied 3 scores and Matt Merucci scored 2 times as the Ramblers built a 5-2 halftime lead en route to an 8-4 victory over Oak Park. Jake Grant, Leo Manola, Thomas Cozzi and Zach Kayser each scored once and Kevin Obrecht made 17 saves in the loss for the Huskies.

 

St Ignatius 13 Palatine 4

Andreas Christy and Shane Hughes both scored 4 goals and Sam Enger saved 8 shots to help SICP get past the tournament hosts 13-4 on Friday night. Bradley Yendro, Jacob Conroy, Finn Connors, Gus Enger and Robert Flores all scored once as well for the winners.

 

Loyola 11 Homewood-Flossmoor 6

Larkin Flanagan and Matt Merucci both registered 3 goals to help lift the Ramblers over the Vikings 11-6 on Friday. Johnnie Schmidt and Travis Tanner each scored 2 goals and Lucas Santefort blocked 20 shots in the loss for the Vikings.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Latin 21 Hoffman 9

Sam Orlin netted 5 goals, Frankie Joslin scored 3 times and both Ben Golub and Lucas Barbosa scored 2 goals as the Romans downed Hoffman 21-9.

 


 

 

 

NAPERVILLE NORTH TOURNAMENT

Naperville Central 10 Naperville North 1

Kaela Codo scored 4 goals and Emily Rodgers netted 2 scores as the Redhawks topped Naperville North 10-1 in the event's opening game. Alli Hansen, Caroline Aemmer, Emily Westlove and Rylee Brower all scored once in the winning effort for Central. Caitlin Holzer scored the lone goal in the loss for the hosts.

 

Neuqua Valley 9 Waubonsie Valley 7 (OT)

Zoe Salafatinos scored the game-winning goal in the second period of overtime as Neuqua Valley earned a 9-7 comeback win over Waubonsie Valley. Catherine Carroll scored 5 goals, including the game-tying goal with six seconds remaining, to send the game to extra time. Salafatinos (5 assists, 7 steals) and Heather Sterchele also scored 2 goals apiece and Issi French made 9 saves for the victors. Alex Triko tallied 4 scores, Maria Campbell scored 2 times and Kimela Srey dished out 4 assists and scored once in the loss.

 

Naperville Central 17 Metea Valley 4

Kaela Codo recorded 5 goals, Emily Westlove scored 3 times and Faith Vandercar made 11 saves in the Redhawks' 17-4 triumph over Metea Valley. Angie Benton and Emily Rodgers also scored 2 goals in the Central win.

 

OTHER KEY GAMES

Hoffman 8 Latin 5

Ann Cho and Jenny Fermaintt each scored 4 goals as Hoffman went on the road to beat Latin 8-5 to win their second straight game of the opening week.

 

Lyons 10 York 6

Kaysie Stuba registered 6 goals and 4 steals while Annika Moore scored 2 goals and Maddie Janik made 8 saves in the Lions' 10-6 win over York in a West Suburban Conference fixture. Hanna Good and Maddie Cordell both added one score in the LT victory.
